The German TV Station RTL will broadcast a new Chartshow, about the greatest hits of the 80ies.

So tomorrow I´ll see it...

Germany bears PSB in mind.

Musical guests in the studio are Nena, OMD, Spliff, Münchner Freiheit, Hubert Kah, Paul Young, Sandra and Maggie Reilly. I'm really looking forward to OMD!

There are several shows of this kind on
the telly these days and nobody knows
how they come to their rankings which
seem different every time ... you could
'vote' the acts or bands via internet as
far as I know so honestly, I don't take
it toooo serious. What I liked was OMD
in person in this show (Andy McCluskey
and Paul Humphreys).

Hehe, Modern Talking more successful
than Depeche ... ridiculous.

Anyway, PSB being N° 1 looks good ...

Yeah, an 80s show every several weeks
with no proof or explanation of the 'ran-
kings' being different each time.
There are only 80s acts in that show not
being successfull these days and since
then. And they don't even perform live I
suppose. An opportunity for non success-
ful 80s relicts for being 'present' in public
and earn a few cents ...
That says a lot about these kind of shows
and their reliability. Seems they want to
make their money with remembering the
people of the 80s by telling about 'olde'
ex-stars and how they live today. Bands
who are still successfull get some ranking
(unexplained how it came to it) but don't
appear in that show. Why would they ... ?

Funny, Fletch being a member from the
beginning (unlike Dave Gahan) was not
even mentioned. They showed a few vi-
deo snippets where you could see Alan
Wilder ...

rious ... ?

Explanation to the PSB: '10 N° 1 hits du-
ring the 80s' plus a few video clip snip-
pets and that's it. None of their hits na-
med or 'listed' really. Most vid snippets
taken from West End girls.
The 'ranking system' must've been 'ex-
plained' in the beginning then. Pity, I've
missed it ...

I thought it was a show about 'the most
successful' stars in the 80s (so why not
prove it by naming the ranking of certain
hits?) and not who some internet voters
like the best or whatever ...
And if you click on PSB in that list you're
getting on some page where you can or-
der some of their stuff. Brilliant. I would
have expected some explanation behind
the link ... silly me.

really were quite good ...'

I thought they count how many Top 10 Hits you have and for how long they stayed in the Top 10. That's all. Or isn't it?

Really? Interesting! Have they said so
in the beginning of the show ?

Yes yes, I remember them mentioning
PSB having had 10 Nr. 1 hits which are
'top 10', aren't they? Whatever reason
for voting, then ...
Pity, they've not mentioned all their #1
hits. Or were they 'only' top 10 hits?

I'd really like to see a list of all the hits
and their rankings (in case they've not
been #1s) and for how long ...

Yep that's it. It's about how many Top 10 hits each act had in Germany in the 80s and of course how long they stayed there. One week at number one are 10 points,number two 9 points etc...
