Potemkin CD does not match the movie. Deliberate?

The main difference I found was the (approx.) 5 mins missing at the end of track 2 (Men and Maggots).

When watching the movie with the soundtrack you need to press pause on your CD player at the end of track 2 until a certain point (I think it's about 13:45 mins into the film) and then press play again. Then if the plate in the film breaks in sync with the plate breaking noise on the soundtrack, you know you you're back in sync.

I am curious why they made things difficult like this. Hopefully it will be explained in the forthcoming issue of Literally.

I'm always watching from " From the Battleship " till " For Freedom " and put the Potemkin-DVD in my computer. With iTunes I play a nonstop mp3/wav file
and put the audio 4 minutes later of the DVD-time. Now you can watch perfect to the end.

So people ACTUALLY bootleg such a thing as Battleship Potemkin... AND enough find people to buy this bootlegs so as to make a profit???

I don't think you may call "bastards" someone no matter who they are only because they made a soundtrack shorter. So please do not insult people in such way when there's nothing terrible about their deeds.
It's just a way to promote a CD because the 9-minute "Men and maggots" on the CD would seem too boring to listeners who do not watch the movie at the same time. So I find nothing terrible about it. Hope the full version will be released together with the film someday.

The soundtrack released on CD doesn't at all have to be as long as it appeared in the film. Most of the soundtracks even have songs which never sound in the movie itself. So this is a soundtrack, no matter what you call it. Yes, it's not the original musical accompaniment to the movie but that doesn't make it worse or something.

British EMI CDs are not copy controlled...

It's hardly unreasonable that people will want to watch the movie with the soundtrack together since, apart from a couple live performances, there hasn't been another way to see it "as intended". Besides, we have yet seen confirmation that there will be a DVD period.

Personally, I've reedited the soundtrack to fit and made a DVD myself.

Kinda pissed that after so much tweaking and stuff that as soon as I deleted everything I remembered the fan club DVD trailer which would have made a nice bonus feature. Doh!

haha..I also made this job time ago too, but including the fan-club footage as bonus material...so, we are in sync too

I must say that watching the film with the sound in sync, adds an incredible new dimension to both...the result is something more than watch the images & sound together...a DVD with a 5.1 surround mix of this MUST be released someday....
