it's a good one for me!

Was I the only one who gets the irony in the lyric "I've heard it all before" ? it's far from innovative. Kinda reminds me of some of the Motiv8 mixes from years ago and a sound that I was dancing to in the early 90's.

I dont like it at all - its cheesy eurodisco pop that will sell by the truckloads.
As marketing it's essential - as music it's disposable.

Hmmm, about the original, I hardly heard anything before that sounds so perfect!

listening to this remix,I sometimes think these type of arrangements for neil and chris are onews they can do almost by default, its almost like going on autopilot or they are using a template when they work on a remix.

next time they do a remix, rather than do whats expected of them, ie add throbbing low end synth arps and bleeps I would rather have them do a beautiful slow version of the song they are working on.

thats why I think "where the streets have no name" wasnt all that well recieved musically. I felt a more stripped down slower version would have been far more stirring.

I don't agree. The whole shock value of PSB's Where The Streets was based around the fact that someone had defaced a U2 song by re-recording with a tinny hi-NRG beat and whizzing it into super-camp stratosphere with Can't Take My Eyes. The disco-fied rock thing happens a lot now, but at the time it was subversive & sacrilegious & therefore brilliant. Slow & stirring wouldn't have made anywhere near as strong a statement. The original was slow & stirring anyway.

But I agree about Sorry. Predictable and underwhelming.

The original version is a tough act to follow. I wasn't too keen on the PSB version after the first couple of listens, but it's growing on me now. It's not that bad.

Actually, both of them are saying sorry!

Sorry, I missed your original post. When I first heard it I thought it was Chris too. But you never know with a vocoder/computer.

Oh my God!!!!!!! This is the latest name I ever expected to see mentioned by somebody on this forum!!!!!! I didn´t know Pimpinela was known outside Argentina!!! This is so weird !! (and yes, they´re still making records... )
