this means the DVD will be selled worldwide and also in Argentina and Brazil!

Gardner, your DVD is PAL too??, which region: 2 Region or 0 Region???
because in www.cd-wow.com are selling these different regions and I want to buy it there.

Just watched it again (3rd time) mainly to show girlfriend. Watching it is like drawing a line under their lives as if to say "well that's all folks...for now". Girlfriend fell asleep after about 1 hour, after being nudged by me whoke up, but went off to sleep again at 1 hour 15 minutes You can't convert the Kylie fans it seems. (Cat sleept through the whole thing, but it does nomally put in up to 20 hours a day of sleep).

I watched Life In Pop last night and must say that I was rather disappointed.Since I'm a fan it's of course entertaining viewing, but as a documentary it's very lazy. There are loads of people who could have been interviewed too: Neil's editor in Smash Hits, Bobby O, Stephen Hague, Mark Farrow, Tom Watkins, Jonathan Harvey etc etc. All of which would have been much more interesting than Brandon Flowers, Jake Shears and Tim Rice-Oxley wittering on endlessly how big fans they are of the group; one or two quotes from each would have been enough.

But what's even worse, the documentary doesn't really place PSB in any kind of cultural context. It fails to point out PSB's place both in pop and in culture in general. If you knew nothing about PSB before viewing the doc, you would be pretty nonplussed as to exactly why they were important anddifferent to the other pop bands of their era. Sure, you hear several times how great songwriters they are, but then again, everybody says that in every hagiographic music documentary. There's also no dramatic arc in the doc - it goes chronologically on and on without really zooming in on anything.

It would have been nice to have heard from Neil & Chris' parents, brothers & sisters.

The PAL 0 region is the one I have, and it has spanish subs.

I finally got 'A Life in Pop' this weekend and watched it twice. A great documentary and one of the best PSB dvd releases imo. It's great to hear a new(er) generation of singers/ songwriters talk about PSB and how they've been influenced by them. It's also got some really interesting bits like the early demo called "A man on the television" or something like that, and the dj talking about how Nirvana changed radio in the U.S. and meant that groups like PSB were no longer played. Dr. Wayne Studer is great too! When you watch the documentary you really get a sense that PSB have managed to maintain creative control of everything they do. They've both made such a little go a very long way!

That West End girls performance from 1984 is priceless.

I beg to differ But I do knwo the annoyance of showing someone a DVD you want their reaction to only to look over half way through and seeing them fast asleep

I just love the Wogan footage of Losing my mind. Classic interview & a great performance. I loved the set up of the two master keyboards with both Neil & Chris playing (miming??) and the powerhouse for their music standing behind them. What a rig.
Love the excerpt when Neil says " You have to respond to machines i'm afraid".
It was just nice to show off all that machinery in the performance. Very electo, Very Pet Shop Boys.
OH, & Liza is a legend!

The footage from the 1989 tour looks great. I love the 'Left to my own devices' bit. They should release the whole 1989 tour on dvd with Highlights and Projections as extras.

surely Highlights would be included as part of the show, agree with you bout the footage looking great, makes me wonder if it has already been remastered and treated ready for a release

I'm forever puzzled by the fact that the 89 footage didn't pass PSB's quality control, whereas Montage did...
