The Completists out there will have a field day:

the album will be available in eight different shades of mauve (each with a different font), and we'll all be collecting

'Oui, Pet Shop Boys'

'Da, Pet Shop Boys'

etc.....

The album is set to sell millions worldwide, as the 350-strong fanbase are each expected to buy 3,000 copies of the album.

A bonus CD, available in turquoise bubble-wrap, will come with the first 734,220 copies sold in Europe. It will be called:

'No, Pet Shop Boys'
'Non, Pet Shop Boys'
'Niet, Pet Shop Boys' (we've already had that one, Ed.)

We've already had "Pet Shop Boys, actually", so "Yes, Pet Shop Boys" seems to be in a similar vein to that.

I like it.

After Fundamental (a bit coming back of the old PSB sound) and supposing the new album sounds different ("Love, etc" according to Popjustice doesn't sound like anything they had done before), it makes sense. It's like they wanted to say this album doesn't sound as PSB but YES, it's PSB.

Let's see how many other people can make the same observation in a single thread!

Here's another one: if PSB generally have a reputation (fairly or unfairly) for the wistful and ironic, perhaps this is another of those ghastly 'positive energy' moments - so the 'yes' is an indication of an affirmative attitude on the album.

I think Pet Shop Boys, perhaps sounds much better. Less affirmative, sneakier and more uncertain.
