It got an 8/10 review in the NME, most likely because Lily Allen is on it and in NME Cool By Association Terms that's good for several marks. If Razorshite were on it too it'd be 10/10.

Interesting to see a certain Mr C Heath getting a credit for Keep On.

We're the Pet Shop Boys is very impressive sonically but it's practically identical to the other two versions. So is Jonathan Wilkes Chris Lowe then and did they meet in a *ahem* hi-fi shop?

Sh'e Madonna is a grower that (like Minimal) sits in your head for days. The chorus is a wicked hook. Kiss Me is pop-tastic. Lovelight is stunning.
I think it'll be a huge pop album despite only have 4 tracks from it.

Lovelight's been a bit of a disco classic for the past 2 years in its original form, and Robbies verison isn't bad, though not quite as good. Looking forward to the album, despite not being a robbie fan, I'm with popjustice and am expecting it to be really quite a good pop album

I love it. I've always liked Robbie's rapping, despite what most people say.

The album also has a number of "laugh out loud moments" - some of the lyrics are absolute classics.

It's a great album. Much better than expected. And "She's Madonna" could definitely become a huge hit for Robbie and the Boys!

Funnily enough, we are mostly raving about She's Madonna, but Robbie-fans seem more keen about We're The Pet Shop Boys! That's at least the impression I get on a general Dutch forum (called Fok).

It's funny to see huge piles of new Robbie albums on sale, for prices as low as 9,99 euro. It's almost impossible NOT to be successful.

Having given the album a couple of good blasts in the car last night (a finished copy) I still don't see how anyone can think that it sounds like a compilation of demos, especially not She's Madonna. Some of the tracks don't sound great at a first listen - but they grab you after a while, real growers.

Best track: ”We’re the Pet Shop Boys”

Man måste beundra Robbie Williams. ”Rudebox” är inte skivan som världen förväntar sig av honom, troligen inte heller den skiva världen vill ha.
Men Robbie gör den ändå, full med The Streets-twistad rap, knasig electro, discocountry, Manu Chao-covern ”Bongo bong”, en låt om Madonna och en låt om Pet Shop Boys – båda ihop med de sistnämnda–samt den märkliga, Casio-blippande singeln ”Rudebox” där han spottar rader som ”dance like you just won at the special Olympics”.
EMI:s guldkalv har, som ni märker, inte fallit till föga för några marknadsundersökningar. Han fortsätter att gå på magkänsla, och vill bara ha så roligt som möjligt.
Samtidigt passar han på att göra upp med sitt tonåriga 80-tal och sitt Take That-skruvade 90-tal. Han sjunger dessutom om droger på ett sätt som gör det väldigt tydligt att det långt ifrån alltid är jättekul att vara Robbie Williams.
Och han är förstås inte hur apart som helst, ”She’s Madonna” borde till exempel knappast kunna undvika att bli en hit.
Men det är ändå upplyftande att höra en av de riktigt stora artisterna sätta så här mycket på spel.
Att vissa låtar i sin leklusta blir smått olyssningsbara förlåter vi honom gärna. Det känns nästan som en del av grejen

Hm, just to add that We're the PSB sung by Robbie is naught special, not to mention the 'voice tweaking' for want of a better word. Not a patch on Mr Tennant's version.

She's Madonna is the most downloaded track from the album on Swedish Itunes.

It's really not that bad, Good Doctor is just sh*t though. The chrous' are generally stunning, the rapping needs to be taken with a shovel of salt. It IS, as Pop justice say, a very good pop album. I've never been a fan of his radio 2 pop/rock. She's madonna is similar to Crying Game and No Regrets in terms of mood and how they have used Neils' voice (very effectively) for the harmonies.

Knock off about 5 tracks and you;ve got a great pop album, not sure why all reviews have been SO bad.
