The more I think about it, the more I like the title Yes Pet Shop Boys.
Makes me hope people will hear the music, be pleasantly surprised & say:
Is that the Pet Shop Boys?
To which we'll all smugly reply:
Yes

That was the first thing that came into my mind before opening this topic. Checked the official site at first.

At first I didn't like the idea. But after sleeping I see it clearer... Yes. Yeah, because, "Yes, let's do that Brit award thing...", "Yes, let's do a comercial album", "Yes, let's work with cracking producers", "Yes, let's give our fans the super album they've been waiting for years", etc. : D Tomorrow is December 25, gifts and stuff, so no doubt I have to be positive about that by now...

Accepting the obvious ludicrousness associated with analysing an album title, it has to be said that "Yes" is a nothing moniker for a record.
Given titles like Please, Actually, Discography, Very, and Fundamental over the years (all playing on puns of one type or another), "Yes" is far too affirmative for my taste. People gasp, what's wrong with being positive? Simple answer: Pet Shop Boys are not about being positive. Even their most gloriously upbeat records are typically replete with poignant melancholic gloom. If Neil tells us that the record is very up and very positive, then yes, it might be time to worry.

In revenge of this announcement, I'm want a punky mini-album called "f***!" to be released in autumn'09.
