What`s even worse about this crisis is the fact that it has been caused by the human greed, which had been constantly stimulated at all levels over the past few years. No one stopped the rich from trying to expand their profits beyond any limit, by any means, all this while the media (especially the glossy magazines) kept promoting the extravagant, wasteful, careless (as a loan is always at hand) type as the best one could relate to. Actually, not everybody turned extravagant like Paris Hilton (at normal times, she would never have been a model for anyone), but started the materialistic competition that you`re speaking about, and so the love (= friendship, compassion, kindness…) became obsolete values. I only hope that the crisis wouldn`t last for so long, and maybe something good will come from it… sometimes a kick in the butt is actually a step forward!

(And, of course, the Boys were observing all this sh*t while working on "Yes"... "Love etc." is for sure on the "crisis soundtrack" - to cheer us up, indeed!)

Love etc is number 19 (up from 37) on the airplay chart. Not bad. Not bad at all....

Apart from Radio 2, what other radio-stations are playing the song?.

No idea. I very rarely listen to the radio but it must be being played on several.

Adam and Joe played it on Saturday.

Don't some of the best Pet Shop Boys albums coincide with economically bleak times in the UK? "Actually" and "Very" spring immediately to mind. Conversely, they have not done so well in times of boom; "Release", "Fundamental"...

I'm wondering whether PSB nicked the title from the excellent (We Are) Performance track, "Sex Etc."

It looks like they were rather melancholic and / or critical during times of boom. Release and Fundamental may not have been very successful - still I personally find them good albums. Actually, I tend to love (almost) everything PSB does...

Why do i keep on thinking about Simon Cowell when listening to it?
