Perhaps not Take That the band – but the members all had a rather unsuccesful decade after TT folded and the initial buzz of their solo debuts faded. Especially Gary Barlow's (who was supposed to become the new George Michael) solo career flopped badly and Robbie for one took full advantage of that.

And the fact that radio aren't playing it very much. Most people I speak to don't even know he's got a new single out.
I'd be interested to know how many PSB fans will be buying this single, as some can't be arsed to even buy a PSB single let alone a Robbie collaboration.

Which is very sad because Go West and Always On My Mind are not PSB original songs. Even, It's A Sin sounds very similar to one song of Cat Stevens. I think its name was Cool World or something like that.

Singer Robbie Williams has come out of rehab after spending three weeks in a clinic in Arizona being treated for a dependency on prescription drugs. Williams' spokeswoman confirmed he was out and said the singer would now continue with an "after-care programme in Los Angeles".

Cool World is a terrible film from the early 1990s. Disappointed was on the soundtrack, rather inexplicably.

I've never thought of similarities between those songs.
Now when you say it, yes maybe a little, but I wouldn't call them "very similar".

Now when you say it, yes maybe a little, but I wouldn't call them "very similar".
The "media personality" Jonathan King, who has since went on to build a career as a renown pedophile, accused PSB of plagiarism and even went as far as recorded his own version of Wild World with a It's A Sin -style production. The verses of It's a sin are not totally dissmilar to Wild Word, but clearly there is no case for serious plagiarism accusations.

Well there's been a controversial video, a moderate degree of airplay, several newspaper stories concerning either stolen ideas/lyrics or Robbie in drag, but if the artist is in rehab rather than plugging the single with interviews then there's not really a lot more the record company can do short of paying Madge herself to officially urge all her fans to buy it.

Kylie's never played stadiums like Robbie or Madge, and Fever and the first album aside, she's never sold tons of albums either. Rob and M are still massive live draws and only last year Rob played the biggest tour of all time in Europe.

I think it was only on the US pressing of the soundtrack. Considering it wasn't heard in the film it was indeed rather inexplicable. Crap title song by Bowie too. Oh, hi dVTB....

Robbie's not a fanbase artist so unlike the likes of PSB his sales are not gonna tail off quickly after the day of release. Shame it's not gonna go top 10 but it gives PSB the 49th top 20 UK hit they've been involved with, I think. Can't wait to see what the golden 50th will be.

Robbie Williams' career crisis is deepening with his latest single looking likely to be his biggest flop.
'She's Madonna' - which has been touted as one of the standout tracks from the album 'Rudebox' - is sitting at a lowly No 17 in the midweek charts, despite being available on CD and as a download.
The Pet Shop Boys-penned track hasn't suffered from a lack of press either - it bagged all the wrong kind of headlines after footage of the accompanying video leaked.
In the promo Robbie dresses as a (bad) transvestite and talks about himself in the third person.

MY, how times have changed. While Take That have hit the No.1 spot with new single Shine, poor old Robbie Williams is having trouble scraping into the Top 20.
Midweek estimates place She's Madonna at just Number 17, having sold a paltry 2,500 copies since its release on Monday. For only the second time in his career, Rob risks missing out on a Top 20 place altogether.
And there were high hopes for She's Madonna. Not only is it a collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys, but his record company splashed out on an expensive video featuring Robbie in a dress.
If they hoped the shock factor would boost sales, it seems to have backfired. What a drag...

I WONDER if, as Neil Tennant slips away from the car crash that is Robbie’s Rudebox, he has had time to ponder? For those less hardened to the slings and arrows of the pop world than Tennant, this track could be the equivalent of waking up in bed with two strange men and not knowing how you got there. If three big stars are going to make a song about another big star and they don’t want to look prats, then they have to come up with something more convincing than this. End of.
