If Obama is a dangerous idiot, then I hate to think what McCain and Palin are!
I'd rather have Obama as president over the war-mongering grandad anyday.

You know, for a minute there I coulda sworn it was Republican George W. Bush who has overseen the biggest increase in the Federal Government since FDR, and that it was Republican George W. Bush who instigated the US PATRIOT Act that gave him more control over people than any POTUS in history
'alig', your posts are full of lies, deceit, hate, insults, smears and more lies. The only thing missing from your posts are little things known as "facts".
And you know it, because you're too f*** gutless to debate me, you coward.

Iz it coz dey iz lookin' for a rise?
its because me and alig, even though our politics may fall in line a bit with the right,
dont let politics dictate what music is acceptable to like.
some others however, like blueswan and possibly you,and deschanel are absoulity stuck in the mud and mired with this overpolitical nonsense and most likely would let politics prevent you from liking some artist or group if their politics were on what you view as the wrong side.
If a group was overtly right wing in what they said and did and in the message of a large proportion of their songs, they most certainly wouldn't be among my favourites. It wouldn't stop me from liking the odd song, but for sure I wouldn't be calling myself a fan and posting on their messageboard.
I'll always like a good tune, but for me the lyrics need to speak to me in order for me rank an artist among my favourites. I fail to see how this could be interpreted as being "stuck in the mud." It simply means that the meaning behind a song is more important to me than just the music.
contrast how you are......and then me listening to the "night I fell in love",and me who actually loves that song. one would think I'd be in line with your train of thought when I sit thru whats obviously a gay love song. but I dont , cause I dont operate your way.
I'm not going to lie, my mind goes thru some weird acrobatics to twist "him" into "her", but as a straight guy I still love the PSB and deal with it.

a interesting article in the paper today. it was titled sharia-UK.which described the winding path of the UK towards sharia law being allowed with the ok by the gov.
how its starting in baby steps, and for now has to follow the guidlines of british law overall, but how its getting a bit hazy in places.
but it went on to say some police officers in a case for fear of being labeled anti-Islam went against normal procedure and sided with a sharia courts illegal judgement against a woman concerning a muslim divorce.these were police officers.
my point being, for a people who seem concerned about seperation of church and state, and abortion rights, and gay marriage...and Obama over Mcain,
some of you are clearly a very confused people.

i hear you glenn. labor is a typically socialist party: they don't believe in God, but in big government. they also believe in political correctness which is just another kind of censorship. and they are pussilanimous, useful idiots who are too cowardly to fight islam.
wherever socialists rule, crime is out of control(see london under mayor 'red' ken) and more and more people are on the dole waiting for government handouts. because socialists RELY on those people who are hard up. that way they can bribe them and secure their votes.
the financial crisis we are facing right now courtesy of socialism. the clinton administration meddled with the mortgage business and was ready to bail those banks out. thus, those banks were encouraged by clinton to give people loans who couldn't afford them. and now look what happened. and now obamessiah brazenly claims it happened because of capitalism! he is a hardcore communist and his idol saul alinsky advised people to lie and smear and do whatever they can to gain power. if you want a mendacious, ignorant and arrogant idiot for president who's gonna nationalize business and instate socialism, he's your man.

Bush "liberated" Iraq? Where have I been living? And here I thought he had different reasons for attacking that country.
I'm sorry but I fail to see Bush as a hero or a good person. No one is fighting for freedom. People are losing lives for someone to get more money in his pocket as the American economy is crashing down at a fast speed.
But that's just my "whiny, spoilt" European opinion.

His trolling is so patently obvious now. For example, there are legitimate criticisms to be made of Obama; the accusation that he's a "communist" who "surrounds himself with terrorists and criminals and racists" is not one of them. "alig" never debates people, he just puts them down and belittles them; when someone repeatedly bests him in an argument, he puts them on ignore. Such intellectual cowardice is shameful.
He's a "Christian", dont'cha know?

Didn't Bush just nationalise Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and AIG? Oh shit, there goes your whole argument

He claims to be. He's certainly a few other things beginning with C.

Oh dear, as Satan is cornered the gates of hell are spewing forth.
THE TRIPLE FAILURE OF CONSERVATIVE POLITICS OVER FIVE DECADES.
1. "All nigger/communist/Muslims are against Israel and America".
That the CIA have been dicking with the Muslim and third world countries for 5 decades to
get oil/resources and "friendly governments" is not the cause of 9/11 is it ?
We are fighting and dying in Afghanistan for your stupidity while you raced off to grab oil in Iraq.
2. "The Earth is not warming".
This planet is f*** and Bush/Howard spent a critical decade blocking Kyoto and selling oil and coal.
The people of third world countries will suffer terribly this century.
What will Pakistan do with it's nukes when the glaciers stop providing water to it's rivers in 20 years time ?
Oh yes, your answer is to sell them uranium.
Thank you conservative pawns. Enjoy your Exxon dividends. You did have shares in Exxon didn't you ?
3. " Greed is good".
Conservatives argued for deregulation. Now America is bankrupt and the neo-conservative government is stooping to socialism to save it.
The people you supported destroyed America. They lied to you. They have been lying to you for decades.
It is not politics. It is about the individual and how open one is to the truth.
Being a man is not about patriotism. It is about facing up to your mistakes.

And your long, dull, whiny, tedious posts display how effortlessly simple it is for me or anyone to wipe the floor with you. Is there any more of your tired drivel or shall we just stop at frothing jesus juice?
Oh and as for christianity, I sort of grew out of it, when I was around nine years old. There's still time for you yet.

its almost like a religion.a cult.some people are susceptable to indoctrination by this rampant anti-american/conservativism and are given to emotional posts which as a default ......lay the ills of the world in americas lap.you dont see the big picture your indoctrinated by this kooky mindset.
from 9/11 and terrorism in general,to global warming,to economys, its put out as a result of conservatives,CIA conspiracys ,oil or america. I'm just surprised you didnt throw Isreal in there somewhere..you match all the talking points.
expectant to blame america, and loath to blame any terrorists. you even managed to irrationally lay blame for the enormity of nature right on a political party in the USA and consider the world finished because of some 10 year gap due to conservatives.
gee whiz,my party is really sorry for that whole incinerating the earth thing greg.
and economys go up, down, and they even crash in history.and they recover also.
instead of pulling this sky is falling tactic everytime you see on CNN Mcain is pulling ahead of Obama, realize, just like every time period like ww1 or ww2 when there was alot of problems, and it seemed like it obviously was leading up to the end of days......things just up and kept going..and cycle around....rinse lather and repeat.

It's scary to think what will happen if we get another 4 yrs of more Bush/Chenney, because that is what we will get with McCain/Palin. I'm still not sold on Obama, but I like his pick of Biden as a running mate.

You can smell the stench from the turn this thread has taken over in Multimedia.
Some clarity: Good decent people in the US and worldwide would like like Senator Obama to be elected. Young, incredibly smart, pragmatic, energetic, with some very solid ideas about getting us out of the disastrous mess we're in as a result of Bush's truly catastrophic Presidency.
This is not hyperbole. The US financial system had a near- fatal heart attack this week, it is deadly serious- the results of Republican greed, theft, abdication of duty and clear unfitness to govern our formerly great country. They have left it in tatters. This is leaving out the massive human damage of Bush's war of choice, for now.
Obama's opponent is an elderly, nasty, ferociously-mean-spirited liar who promises America every day that he will continue Bush's policies times 10. Every single day he or his surrogates f*** up, say they'll start war with Russia, Iran, ---Spain!! He and his campaign are seriously so malevolently hell-bent on winning, they are utterly depraved. Malicious lies are pumped every day by the McCain campaign, and the stupid corporate media are just waking up to this.
This is huge, this is serious. The US is dying for change, this election shouldn't even be close- but as long as skull-fvckingly dumb people like Glenn, and in "swing states" rule- that horrible racist redneck farmers and fanatical Christians are the crucial voters- well, it's a mockery of democracy that such idiots get to run the show.
Sadly, racism will inevitably play its part. Some people will simply never vote for a black man.
So instead, they'll vote against their own economic interests and vote for the elderly crank, and the hick Alaskan housewife who probably hopes he'll die in office. They'll vote to f*** themselves deeper into more war, more debt.
It's a dire situation people. It's bad. For the world.

Can't disagree with a word you've written there Deschanel. There's a reason why non-Americans, when polled, come out 6:1 in favour of Obama. Hint: it's not because we're pussies.
