they're not copy protected. They just have a watermark which helps to unmask and track down the possible leaker!

The discs also are not a promos in the way you know them! They are just usual CD-Rs given to some 30-50 friends and media staff of PSB and the record company! Each cover states the name of the one, who received the disc.

i bet if the files were ripped in itunes that would take care of any watermark.
or played on a PC and recorded with an audio app.

it doesn't matter if you record it from a audio source or rip it! The watermark is a 'audible watermark' which always is there! The only thing what you can do is to temper the audio - but this isn't what you want, if you will make it available for other people!

What is it then, like a high pitched noise that you cant actually hear, but when the powers that be use their tools they know exactly whos CD it was etc?

think so! Every recipient of the discs have a number which is married with his/her name. (example: "Bill Goodin" = "No. 15"; "Janet Street-Porter" = "No 1"; "MrPopJustice" = "No. 25"....) the number is a part of the information, which is deposited in the watermark.

well I'm hoping it wont be too long till Hank "I dont give a crap what my watermark CD number is" Johnson uploads the files to a P2P like he did for bilingual,nightlife, release and fundamental.

What I don't like from the reviews so far:

"treated vocals"
"vocals sound slightly over-processed"
"autotune"

"New Orderesque"

I'm tired of autotune effects as well.

I like the sound of the processed autotune vocals they use. they make neil sound more like a machine which really suits the whole cold electronic angle.

I'm more on gaurd about the new order comparison. I dont like the sound of their music at all.
