I agree. Or even include it as a bonus disc with Ultimate. It makes too much sense, so it'll never happen.

Depeche mode have got a new remix album out next year, remixes are currently being
commissioned. Sorry cannot divulge my source as he represents one of the remixers
someone who has mixed Psb in the past

I think you've just described the original concept for Discography. I remember reading before it came out that it was going to be a remixed greatest hits and that Neil and Chris had been spotted going into the studio with various people e.g. Sasha. Then it came out and they said that they weren't "doing a Madonna, where you release a greatest hits album and strangely remix half the tracks" - referring to The Immaculate Collection.

And YES I would love such an album. I can't see the point of Depeche Mode doing another one of those I still enjoy (the silence) Remixes 81....04

On the other hand, such an effort would cost a fair amount of money.

A plain Greatest Hits is very wise, if they want to fund the next album of new material?

How would a fan enjoy an album with Always on my mind Extended Dance Version and So Hard Extended Dance Mix?
This would be as pointless as this Greatest Hits thing that has been announced.

"At least all"? That would be a rather expensive box set... besides, some of that stuff didn't get a commercial release for good reason. Have you ever heard the Tomcraft remixes of "In Private"?

Yes, I'd be interested in a good remix compilation that plugged some of the gaps in relation to mixes that have appeared only on vinyl or are hard to get. Some that come to mind at the moment include Always On My Mind (either a Phil Harding or Shep Pettibone remix), It's A Sin (Miami Mix), I Wouldn't Normally Do This Kind Of Thing (Voxigen mix), Opportunities (1986 12" mix), The Way It Used To Be (Richard X) and so on. I agree with Bruno Republic that we don't need any of the rubbish mixes like Tomcraft's In Private, Tiga's Minimal etc.

I guess what I meant was, to create mixes from scratch, as if they were releasing them as singles.

Not a Disco, or a compilation, or B-Side mixes.

But to actually revisit old tracks and freshen them up.
