Anyway, it's a question what they'd ask for shipping. Amazon.co.uk ask many more for shipping to CZ than to Greece for example. Crazy.

I didn't. Am I a diehard fan? I would consider myself to be. However, I am not myopic. I had a look at the releases and decided that they weren't worth purchasing. The 2-track CD is only of interest to me if it contains a must-have b-side (in other words, something new rather than a cut down version of a hand-me-down from a previous project). I don't collect for the sake of it.

I'm simply going to get the German maxi-single instead. That way I get the real b-side (or bonus track in corporate speak) on CD. Hiding it away on DVD and making it difficult to listen to on the move is just too dismissive of the fan for my comfort.

No, you're not a die-hard fan. You slag off PSB too much. Anyway, the few 'fans' who don't buy cd1 are probably compensated by Elton John fans who *do* buy this release. I also would have preferred Blue On Blue on cd1, but I don't really see how putting In Private there damages sales. Non PSB-fans who only like Minimal, will only buy cd2 anyway. So would I, if I weren't a PSB fan.

As far as I know, there's NO German cd-single this time that has the same content as the DVD (without the video).

In Drico's defence, I'm a die-hard fan and I slag them off constantly.

You don't have to think someone is perfect or all the work they produce is perfect to still be a devoted fan. People do have minds of their own.

If you really want the single you'll walk up the high street to HMV or Virgin to buy it. I've never bought a single in Woolworth's - sweets and dolls for my niece but never any music. I imagine X-Factor acts do well in there.

I *love* Minimal but don't think it's actually going to appeal to the man in the street. As the Channel 4 review pointed out, it's probably their most dance orientated single ever and electro Kraftwerkian odes to minimalism tend not to top the charts.

The point is when you make these soothing 'theories' you forget about all the facts that contradict your rosy specticled predictions.Woolies have not been stocking PSB singles for ages - all their more recents singles still plummet out of the chart in the second week AND make negligable differance to promoting/selling more copies of the album.

At least when you, the "fan from the western foreign depths of Europe" criticises, you do it for good reason

As a fan myself, I criticise PSB somewhere between 5-10% of the time. And you could claim I am more a fan-based collector of PSB releases but I'm not sure what you'd all think if I told you I've yet to purchase Minimal single yet..
