To be honest, I will only buy the Robbie/PSB track in a physical format if I really like it.

Numb is a fan-only release and I seriously fear that this song is going to be the first non-Top 20 single for Pet Shop Boys since Was It Worth It.

That's a little self-defeating surely? A fan release that a fan won't purchase because he thinks it won't reach the Top 20. There's been some speculation (as someone once said) - why don't we wait for 100% confirmation?

The possibility of the single not reaching the UK Top 20 is NOT the reason why I'm considering not to buy Numb cd1. As I wrote: I don't feel like paying money for a horribly mutilated version of a decent album track, combined with a live version of West End Girls, which I will buy 1 week later.

Yes, that's make sanse. Time will tell. And i'm agree with you about b-side, this must be "BYT" for lots of reasons (by the way, don't you think we should call this "double A-side" single because of "Concert" promotion ?).

It's fun seeing people that won't buy this PSB single but wouldn't hesitate to buy an expensive import CD by another artist who had a bonus track where Neil sang the backing vocals.

Naturally we are all entitled to an opinion, but I think "horribly mutiliated" is seriously wide of the mark - it either gets edited (rather well most seem to think, me included) or it doesn't get played on the radio and there would be no point releasing it all - so everyone misses out!

just got the information that EMI Germany INDEED is going to release 'Numb' in Germany also! Possible release date is October 20. and I guess it's a 'one disc release' again (very similar to Minimal).
I also think that this could be a "European release"! So watch out for it in NL, B, LUX, DK, N, S, F, ESP, P, I, SUI and AUT also!

This is almost certainly a bootleg. Unlike all contemporary PSB 12" promos it was pressed on lightweight vinyl in a single sleeve, had a strangely formatted catalogue number and no secondary numeric code, no printed labels and wasn't promo'd via usual EMI channels.
