Excellent gig. A band and catalogue you’ve loved from childhood though to later middle age. After the familiarity/ routine/ of Dreamworld, turning up with no idea what was coming. 2 hours blown away and ending with something totally new and inspiring. A very tight, slick performance, too, even if Neil had a few notes pages lying around. Yes, it wasn’t quite my imaginary setlist but a fair chunk of it was, and they’d have had to play for 8 hours to achieve that!
Camden Electric Ballroom was an ideal venue. We were about halfway up towards the stage and crowd around us were all fine and had a great night, not too many phone cinematographers but loving the moment instead. Brilliant.

Hope everybody enjoyed the show. Interesting set list, but about half of the songs are not really among my favourites, even though the list does not contain many "skip tracks" in my book (Will o the wisp the exception). Many are lyrically interesting (I also enjoyed reading Neil's book, just got the paperback) but musically less so. Not too fond of many ballads/slow tempo tracks in a live show either. But pretty sure I would have enjoyed the show very much!
Highlights for me would have been 2/0, King's cross, Theatre, Young offender, Uncle, To face the truth, Jack the lad, Later tonight, Northerner, Why don't we live together and One in a million.
Songs I would like to hear in an Obscure show: Hell, Wiedersehen, One more chance, Disappointed, Shameless, Hit music, In the night, Survivors, Falling, Truck driver. Some have been played live over over the years but so have some of the songs on the actual set list. OMC and Disappointed were singles of course, but not "official" Parlophone/PSB singles.

Looking forward to Wednesday.
What was the time when people left the gig? Heard some say 10pm others 10.30pm. That's a big discrepancy.

Need to get to friends in Wanstead before the buses stop.

What a fabulous venue and an intimate gig. So refreshing and the polar opposite of Dreamworld. My highlights were Your Funny Uncle, Later Tonight, Do I Have To and The Way It Used To Be. Also Neil’s bits of dialogue were great with his various little song intros adding to the wonderful sense of anticipation. Truly blessed!
Even as a reasonably fit 60yr old, standing up for that length of time (4 hrs + including queueing) is hard on the back but it was worth it.

Can’t say precisely but about 1020. I read they would be on stage at 7:30 but it was actually 0830.

It finished around 1030. 2 hours. DJ beforehand was good too. Worth getting there early. Excellent bar service and quite cheap drinks. Really nothing to moan about!

You need to get the overground from Camden Road to Stratford and then get a bus. Wanstead is a long way from Camden on a bus

Just a small point, but it wasn’t the ambient mix of Music For Boys, it was the original:

Mixed feelings about the show - there were many positives; the Electric is always a great venue for a gig as it’s just the right size, Neil’s voice was really strong throughout and there were some great song choices. The Very tracks went down really well and Sexy Northerner was f*** banging. However, the place was a little too full, meaning it was hard to get into Princess Julia’s brilliant DJ set properly as you couldn’t really move/dance. There were too many phone-bearers just filming the whole bloody thing. And also I’d have preferred a better mix of upbeat tracks alternating with the many ballads as having two or three of those on the trot really affected the show’s momentum. I’d have dumped at least six songs from the set list and gone for other options but you can’t have it all. It’ll be interesting to see the set list for the rest of the week.

I wouldn’t say the crowd were sedate. I was about 15-20 back from the front and everyone was dancing and moving and waving and singing - but for sure… less so during the slower songs of course.
Everyone around me knew all the words and I think are true true fans wanting to soak up the moment - but the minute anything with a beat came on - the crowd throbbed
BUT I would say of all the venues I’ve been too it was tight. Like really tight. And everyone was bent very respectful of each other - you move too far to the left and you annoy someone. You bounce too far to the right and you bump into someone else.
Haggis been really close and in the middle of it at places Royal Opera House and SAVOY - this just felt much much smaller / which was a good thing in some ways but it was squashed and HOT!

Who were the musicians?
And how cool to see the boys enjoy the show themselves. Seems like a fantastic break from usual hits for everyone.
I hope they do more such shows, also in Europe - seems so much fun.
Thank you for all the youtube clips to everyone.
