Pet Shop Boys are excited to announce their first shows in Japan since 2019. On Sunday 4th January, 2026, they will be headlining Rockin' On Sonic 2026 at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, with their "Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live" show. Tickets go on sale on 21st September 2025 via the link below. More Japanese dates to be announced in due course.

Japan! It's close to Melbourne Australia but not quite.


I like the way the poster looks with the Japanese symbols.

It's another festival gig too, I'm noticing.
Many of our music festivals in Australia have gone belly up, so I'm not overly hopeful about the tour coming here.

The never ending not so called farewell tour …

Fingers crossed for some supporting Japan only release in the end of the year?

This brings the Dreamworld tour as being the longest stretching tour for PSB.
Some comparisons:

Dreamworld, 44 months.
Pandemonium, 37 months.
Super, 30 months.
Electric tour, 29 months.

However, it isn't the tour with the most dates.
Electric tour, 113 concerts.
Fundamental tour, 107 concerts.
Pandemonium, 99 concerts.
Dreamworld, 87 concerts.
Super, 83 concerts.

Personally I'm ready for something fresh and different from Pet Shop Boys now. I get that this is easy money for them, but surely they themselves must be bored to tears with touring this by now...??

It's a bit crazy they can't play Go west, almost like if you go to McDonald's and they tell you we don't have Big Mac.

I would imagine it’ll be incredibly exciting taking the show to Japan and other parts of the world that haven’t seen it before - both for them, and for the fans.

It’s all speculation, but I strongly suspect the issue is confined to the DVD rights, rather than anything that’s stopping them from actually performing Go West. It’s more likely that they’ve made the understandable decision themselves not to play the song.

I get that, but let's not forget that this is the band that toured 'Performance' in selected venues within a few months back in 1991. If that was Waitrose, then Dreamworld is now beginning to resemble a corner shop or Del Boy's market stall. It's all a bit cheap and cheerful. Nothing wrong with that perse, but this is supposedly Pet Shop Boys, not an 80's Rewind Festival with ABC, Altered Images, Spagna and Johnny Hates Jazz.. Perhaps I'm being disingenuous, and if I am, I apologise. I just always felt that Neil and Chris set themselves apart from the "Hey remember us?, these were our hits" brigade...

If they get offers that are just too good to turn down they are going to carry on with this tour going to places that haven’t seen it yet. The show is very well rehearsed and as long as they both want to it will carry on as long as they get offers from various promoters around the world.

I think we will see a new release autumn next year.

I’m unable to attend the screening of films in London next Friday as didn’t try for tickets as I’m working and hopefully one of the questions for Neil will be is it the end after the dreamworld tour finishes.

My guess is that they will still release things as they have a contract with parlophone and will play live dates when they choose as it’s more than likely it will still sell out if it’s limited venues and dates.


After all this time it’s great that there’s still a demand for them and they are nowhere near the 80’s rewind festival stuff and imagine they’ve had offers for this and can imagine Chris saying no it will be tragic.
