It appears here you can't, because you made it up. Neil wasn't fretting about a homophobic response to Domino Dancing at the time, there's no record of this.

There's nothing eccentric about asking for a source for a seemingly false claim. It's evident you can't provide one. That's not a lecture, it doesn't involve everyone, and I'm not presenting any made-up facts. I understand why you're having a temper tantrum, but it's probably much easier to just admit you can't back up your assertion and move on.
Track 86: Yesterday, when I was mad (single version)
Chronology: Very, Further Listening, Track 15
I've always found this one a bit limp - the Very era exits with a whimper as far as singles go. The album version is fantastic fun, but the single mix drops the conversation framework by skipping the vocal treatment on the media lines. The music itself is weaker than the hyperactive album iteration; not bad, but not exactly single material IMO. A couple of fun remixes... and whatever the hell Junior Vasquez thought he was doing. Even the sleeve feels tired by this point, with the imagery and accompanying video pointing directly to the lyrics rather than doing anything clever.
A singles package for the b-sides.

I really like the single mix as I loved Tripomatic Fairytales. The video is fantastic too with Neil fulfilling his Noel Coward Stars in Their Eyes fantasy.
But...it's completely self-reflective on being the Pet Shop Boys. Perhaps that's okay for a fifth single but it's not got much crossover potential. This happens again with Single-Bilingual, which is nice enough but is a satire on a type of businessman.
You're not getting to number one releasing these as singles and PSB are moving into that phase of their career where it's basically the existing fanbase that are the ones buying the singles. Acts entering high in the first week of release and then plummeting down the charts is very mid-1990s. By the next time they release a studio album, the pop scene will be a very different one from their imperial peak.
I think the single version of ‘Yesterday, When I Was Mad’, is a decent enough remix. I find the video rather nightmarish. I guess that’s the point.
I remember it was reviewed on a UK radio review show of the week’s new releases. It might have been ‘Round Table’. It got panned. The said they’d run out of ideas and it was time to give it up. Incredible to think that was 31 years ago! If only they’d known what treats were still in store.

It would be interesting to know who was on it and slagged them off - probably a one-hit wonder from 1994. I always harboured grudges against people who dissed PSB (as a fan, that's my job!). I remember Nick Grimshaw made a snarky comment about them when he was on Channel 4 in the early 2000s and I've loathed him every since (plus he's a try-hard t*** anyway). Conversely, if someone famous likes them, they get a pass from me even if they're an awful human being.

because they are, basically, two backing tracks in search of a song.
I consider both Relentless omissions. One is muscular and driving, the other mysterious and sinister. I found both very slight at the time - again, the lack of an actual song being the limiting factor for me, though Some Speculation is at least intriguing. They feel like leftovers, which they likely were. But they're quality leftovers. Together, they are satisfyingly seedy.

This music is right up my alley — two techno masterpieces that end Alternative on a high note. Everything before feels like a warm-up for this moment, when we finally hear real emotion from the polished poster boys on their early album covers.
I love Some Spec. It puts you in a great mood. Just as they say in the Alternative booklet... they come full circle from In The Night.
And yes, they should've been on Relentless with Relentless 8-track-version put out in 1994 as the follow up to Very.
