Russia have the potential to be a very, very good side in the next few years. They are full of quality young players. If they can become more clinical in front of goal, they will soon be a match for anyone in the world.

This tournament is probably beyond them but it's not unthinkable for them to get past Holland, particularly with the Guus Hiddink factor...

Of course everyone believes Holland will beat Russia.
But... I hope, not believe, but hope.

Some of our players really want to win...
Let's see

David Pleat and is it Tyldsley? Have an unhealthy obsession about England and Ronaldo.

Good game though. Could end up 4-3

Oh it's certainly Tyldesley. If I was Ronaldo I'd have a restraining order put out against the weirdo - even Madrid's not far enough away. Yes, apparently England were in a group of death and I must have been imagining that they drew at home to Macedonia. Oh God, Gary Neville. *puts on kettle*

Looks like after 25-30 mins the Portuguese were scared so they decided to pass and play 1-2, and it worked but I'm looking forward to see what tactical changes there will be in the 2nd half. I'd like Germany to win tonight. Somehow, Germany seem to be doing better tonight than they have been all tournament :o

lol Gary Neville. As much as most people would want to slap the BBC pundits, they are far superior to the dummies the ITV have come up with.

No wonder David Pleat can't get another job in football. He thinks Deco is still a good player.

I've got to say that I really haven't enjoyed a tournament this much ever - 1982 is the first tournament I remember and that was fantastic but I was only eight. I can't wait for the next game every day at the moment. International tournaments really do piss all over the hype machine that is the Premiership. Ooh, who will win it next year? Which billionaire's team will lift the trophy? It might even come down to having to beat Wigan on the last day again!!!!! Yes, the mighty Wigan. How f*cking exciting.

Brilliant performance of our team tonight. That was our best match so far in the tournament ! Schweinsteiger was incredible and the whole team was fighting like hell.

Well done boys 8)

Hmm, I don't like Ronldo but there's no need to stand on a man when he's down. Also Ballack blatantly pushed the defender out of the way for Germany's third goal (though of course it took the dozy ITV commentary team about 5 minutes to notice...) The first German goal was great, though, and it was a very entertaining match.

And what's this rubbish about "Never write off Germany?" Who wrote them off?

I just think the Portuguese were tired and overdid everything in the group stages lol. I've never liked Ronaldo and a handful of the Portuguese players either as they seem to have gigantic egos which will destroy their careers eventually

I did have a laugh when Ronaldo went down and started to bawl his eyes out about 5 seconds into the incident. I've seen better play-acting from the Italians from Italia90! If you gonna act like a wimp, at least do it decently!
