Franz Ferdinad have been confirmed as one of the first acts for this year’s Exit Festival in Novi Sad, Serbia and Montenegro.
They will be joined on a rather eclectic line up by Dave Clarke, Tiga, Suzanne Vega, The Pet Shop Boys and Technasia.
This year’s event takes place over the weekend of July 6-9, tickets are on sale now through the official website and cost 66.75 euros.

Are you sure it was FULL OF THEM and only THEM behaving that way? I've been to Benicássim two years ago and there I saw something different...
...Anyway, it's good news they're doing some festivals. I hope there's a chance for an appearance at a German festival as I go to Rock am Ring as it seems.
Benicàssim is not Creamfields. That Creamfields-Andalucía festival is created for tourists that come to south spain to get cheap drink, party and bulls running free along the streets. And what they get is the desert, small towns and not much to do a part from waiting the concerts to start. Benicàssim was first a small fest where you could hear some nice indie music under the summer sun. Anyway I know you can't talk about such a big audience as a whole.
Oh, did I say that Creamfields is held at my grandpa's town?

THEY are the heavyweights of the Irish music scene, already fighting a court battle over the right to a Rolling Stones gig. Now the battle of the bands between MCD and Aiken Promotions is moving to the midlands, with Ireland’s two biggest promoters hosting rival concerts this autumn.
Following the success of Aiken’s Electric Picnic festival, Denis Desmond’s MCD in August will launch Hi:Fi, its own indie-dance version.
“I suppose it’s flattering that they’ve gone to such lengths to copy it,” said Peter Aiken. “Let’s see if they can match it, however. But it’s only a bit of fun at the end of the day.”
Now in its third year, Electric Picnic pioneered a boutique-style festival, with an audience of 30,000 descending on the grounds of Stradbally House in Co Laois on the first weekend of September. Last year’s line-up included Alison Goldfrapp.
MCD is more used to hosting events such as the monster 70,000-capacity Oxegen rock concert in Punchestown, but its new specialist festival will cater for just 25,000. Like Electric Picnic, Hi:Fi will take place on the grounds of a stately midlands home, Belvedere House in Co Westmeath.
Hi:Fi is even expected to imitate Electric Picnic’s 1980s revival, which in September featured the Human League. MCD is tipped to introduce its own icons from that decade, Pet Shop Boys. Ian Brown and The Prodigy are also expected to turn up at the two-day event.

Thanks, didn't know that. I quite enjoyed the Benicássim festival and I'd always prefer it to lets say any German festival. It's great to listen to some fine music while you don't need to fear any rain/storm coming up (usually)...
