About the album.
One question: do you think "Red Hot Chilli Peppers" can sell more copies of their album STADIUM ARCADIUM in their third week than "Pet Shop Boys" with FUNDAMENTAL in their first week?.

What were the opening week figures for Release & Nightlife? Not great, I think.
'I'm with stupid' stands a much better chance of going top 10 than 'Fundamental' does of hitting #1. I think the album will chart around #6

Well, there are not very important releases the same week of Fundamental's launching. The biggest one is Red Hot Chilli Peppers, two weeks before.

In the last few weeks 20-25,000 has got to numbers 4 & 5. I think Pink's Stupid Girls got to #4 with just under 20,000. It's not a particularly strong week (May 8th) so you never know.
Why are you so pessimistic, Undertaker? Do you think 'I'm with stupid' will sell less than 'HAD'?
With physical and download sales I think they'll scrape a top 10. How much did 'Miracles' sell when it entered at 10?

It's not wether i think I'm with stupid will struggle to sell, it wont but you usually get a top ten with around 11 - 12,000. Lately, thats gone up quite a bit. Singles are sticking around longer, such as Gnarles Barkley and Rhianna. I think it will be a case of other singles doing exceptionally well, rather than I'm with stupid selling poorly. I'm usually quite good with chart positions though!

The video gets played quite a bit on Sky. I saw it 3 times yesterday in 4 hours while channel hopping.

I think so. It's so shit and chock full of chavvy appeal that I think it will be a big hit
It's requested by pikies everywhere on the music channels. Chico didn't get much radio play either (or Mr. Blobby!) but kids luv that shit & it will chart higher than 'I'm with stupid'.

I don't think 'I'm with stupid' will trouble Gnarls & Rihanna, I agree that those big records are taking up long-term residency at the higher end of the chart, but lower top 10, do you think Chicane, Raconteurs will stay in the top 10 to the point of keeping PSB out?

But albums have a totally different lasting power. A new album by a huge band doesn't drop the following week but sticks in the Top 10 for weeks or months. PSB has trouble beating a 6-months-old Coldplay/Keane/Snow Patrol/whatever album even in its first week.
