Album version. Which, I have to say, has now been surpassed by the single version IMO. The single is so compact and beautifully produced, with that beefed up bassline. I much prefer it. And last night the last three minutes of the album version did go on a bit with Neil standing there with nothing to do.

No...the thigh slaps were surprisingly absent last night.
There was a rather special 'dance' moment however during It's A Sin. At one of the thunderclaps after singing "It's a sin" Neil did a little dance where he bobbed down at the knee and brought both hands up to either side of his head, palms outwards. It was rather special. He only did it the once, mind you......

Just got back this afternoon from a quite frankly awesome weekend in London. 
After patiently waiting outside with the other website winners (Thanks again Bill for the chance at the end of last week to get a pair of tickets ) I was pleasantly surprised to get in before the invited guests line. 
Theatre was very plush and intimate. We managed to get seats in the 5th row from the front, right infront of Neil and Chris's family and friends. There must have had about 10-15 of them there !
Concert itself .....
Simply Brilliant !
Kicking off the show with Left to my own devices with Sally and an orchestra was sheer genius. It was near on perfect to how it was 18 years ago.
Integral sounded superb with the orchestra. A really storming thumping track that is just crying out to be heard in this format in the future. Same can be said about Sodom.
Rufus Wainwright was very good doing Casanova. Neil could he seen furiously nodding his head and mouthing the words to himself as he sat on a piano near the back.
When Robbie came on to do Jealousy, my wife went mental !
Having seen Take That with her friend only last week, she sat there mouth wide open in sheer amazement and was rendered speechless ! As soon as he exited the stage, she told me she needed the loo .... 
I thought she'd gone to phone her friend, but no, she had nipped out to the stage door out the back and got to see him briefly before his minders ushered him into a people carrier.
It's a sin ....... Exactly how is should have been played. Totally amazing.
I can't imagine the expense of setting up a concert like this. If it were ever financially viable to run a series of these (maybe without the guests) then it would certainly rate as one of the most dazzling concerts by anyone bar none.
Definately the best PSB event I've ever been to and I feel that it would almost be impossible to better.

I did have my camera with me as I didn't trust the security in my hotel .... But the thought of being ejected from the theatre by any of the numerous security in the theatre just for the sake of sneaking a picture, wasn't worth the risk in my opinion.

Great night and fab to see some familiar faces there (Redsock, Craig, the Savoy veggie throwers etc...) 
Re: Robbie - I absolutely refused to give ver "Robster" a standing ovation...thought I'd save that for the Boys instead - after all, it was their gig - and WHAT a gig!
Gah, guess that means I've got to come out of hiding to update The Pets Files now....!
