In the Netherlands, Radio 2 (comparable to BBC Radio 2) also grew out to be the most popular radio station. All 'hit radio' stations like 3FM (comparable to BBC Radio 1) and commercial stations have worser listening rates than Radio 2. Radio 3FM is not PSB-unfriendly, though. Two DJ's on it are big fans and play PSB often. I'm with stupid was already played several times.
Age should not be an argument for BBC Radio 1 to skip music. The best music, that appeals to the audience, belongs on the playlist. It's very narrow-minded to think that only music by young artists can appeal to young people.

You can send in a question to Colin & Edith's part of the Radio 1 website now.
I think you have to register though.
The best question is:
Neil & Chris, why do you believe you don't get airplay on Radio1?

Personally, I think they should rise above the airplay subject.
Don't be bitter. Be better!

"Post a question for Neil & Simon". Who the hell is Simon?
"win a signed Pet Sho Boys CD". Do they have monkeys typing this information?

Neil & Simon were the comedy aspect on BBC TV's 90s Saturday morning show 'Going Live'. They actually used to do quite an amusing PSB parody.
