Album downloads have been included since the week Morrissey's album came out.
Apparently, they count significantly less then on the singles chart. Someone told me the number 1 album on itunes sells around 1,000 copies to get there. Don't know how accurate that is.
Seems with albums people still prefer to go and buy the product and hold it in their hand, which, when you consider the beauty of 'Fundamental's' art work, one can understand.

forgive my ignorance, but do all album sales count toward the chart - ie, do sales from amazon etc count.

and is it from chart return stores only as the singles chart used to be or just purely on total volume of sales.

if anyone could shed some light, it would be much appreciated.

It has. Nightbird only shifted 10,500 copies overall.

Thats generous. I'd have thought 9.10 am would be more realistic. Surely the handful of copies it did sell were through Amazon. I cannot see anyone, even the die hard Erasure fans, being seen buying Union Street in broad daylight.

Very poor..

That must be the reason why it is 2.96£ in Amazon for ages, almost since its release....

I am waiting for it to drop to 1.99£, though..

Number 5 would be AMAZING!

I want the boys to get at least a Gold disc for the wall of Neil's palatial Country sprawl.
