i must have listened to the album a dozen times (not many i guess compared with some here but here's my thoughts)...
1) I prefer Steven Hague's production to Trevor horns... well I prefer Very to Fundamental
2) Some of the songs do have a familiar theme to them... someone said in a review 'its like the psb doing a cover of the psb'... to some extend I concur
3) Not too sure how many of the tracks here would make it into a top 10 psb tracks list... probably none
4) I'm with stupid was a good choice as a single as it sure beats IDKW but vs. Can you forgive her? it sucks
5) In a few months time I can see myself listening to fundamental on rare occasions
6) Overall 6/10 - shame really as I'm chuffed to bits that they're getting all this publicity.. just wish they had got it for Very instead !

Well I think he only produced and mixed the whole album which probably accounted for the fact that it was very fresh and uplifting....
I give you... Can you forgive her?, YO, TT, GW... all have the Stephen Hague sound and feel...
The Trevor Horn production... just feels a little DULL... as if someone has taken the top coat off a nicely varnished pair of ballustrades... just not as sparkly.... and hence... you get the warmth of a blanket... when its 30c outside... when what you want is a pair of sequined bermudas...

I've said something along the same lines but i said the clangers were on Luna Park ( the clangers was a BBC childrens tv show in the seventies, clangers were puppets who lived on the moon) the noise they made was those penny whistle things with the stick you pulled in snd out of the bottom to change the pitch...brought back some great memories..and yes it does sound like button moonCBA wrote:Luna Park reminds me of the theme tune to Button Moon.
