stats-freak wrote:*if* an American single is released, it certainly won't be I'm with stupid. That song can be seen as (mild) criticism towards Bush, and such tracks are mostly boycotted by radio stations. Minimal would be a better choice, but you first need some proper remixes. The Lobe remix is already on Fundamentalism, the Tiga remix is just horrible... - To promote Minimal, you need GOOD dance floor remixes.
But people hate Bush now and frankly, it might get them a lot of attention. Still, something like "Minimal" would probably be better.

Are you kidding....???? They are on EVERY Talk SHow, EVERY "news" show and their new album is/was NUMBER ONE!

I doubt with out the negative publicity they would have all this new publicity.

Bashing Bush hasn't hurt the Dixie Chicks over the long run as much as it did right at first. There was pretty bad backlash at first, but that was a different time, when Bush bashing wasn't as acceptable. Not that they are constantly Bush bashing now- it comes up, but it isn't the main focus of most of the stories about them (or at least of the ones that are more than 20 seconds long). But they are extremely popular in much of the country- being anti-Bush hasn't really gained them any fans.

But a song like I'm with Stupid wouldn't get much play in the US- too much irony and hidden meanings...not that Minimal or any other tracks will get much attention....

many, MANY americans still don't know who blair is.... ;)

I'm afraid a lot of the irony will be lost on the listening public. they'll just think it's a silly love song. plus that radio station I called told me flat out they won't play I'm with stupid. and it's a pretty eclectic station. they play anything and everything.
I wooooooooooooooood if I cooooooood...
