I care cause I want them to do good.
in any case I,by the grace of God actually heard "Im with stupid' at wallmart an hour ago. granted it was interrupted by an employee over the loudspeaker telling todd to go to the aquarium section but just the same there it was.this is the first time I have heard fundamental on the radio in america.
freakin awesome! they always tend to play PSB at abercrombie and fitch but not wallmart.

All I know Is I have the album plus bonus cd and I am very happy with my copy and screw what other people thinks. PSB has alot of money and they don;t need sales. We all know they are great and that' s what counts.

Madonna is and was cool.
Depeche is and was VERY cool.
New Order is and was VERY cool.
Besides Madge, these guys havent had any kind of prolonged chart success.
Being cool doesn't always mean selling albums
PSB are kitch

I disagree. I'd bet that in the 2000s Depeche and New Order have both sold way more albums and singles and the Boys.

I'll agree with you if it doesn't result in either Parlophone dropping them, reducing their budgets and so on. To that extent I care a lot!

According to another thread the chart performance of the last albums by Depeche Mode and New Order in the UK was not much different from that of Fundamental. I doubt those bands sell much more than PSB in the UK. In Europe and the U.S. Depeche Mode probably sells more records than PSB. I doubt New Order sells more than PSB.
I think promotion, radio play, video play and touring are more important than being cool.

A number 5 album and number 8 single in the U.K. High profile concerts and interviews. All this 21 years on. I really don't know what people expect sometimes.

I'm with stupid stayed a few weeks in the Top 40 and quickly dissapeared....
It look like Minimal would probably do the same...
Do we think that Dave Dorrell is doing a good job with the management of the boys ??? I agree that they have had plenty of promotion with tv interviews, tv specials, live dates but i think that the boys are getting less and less commercial...
So my question is what do PSB have to do to sell records...
Wonder if they would sell their souls to get back to number 1 (ie appear on Celebrity Big Brother / Get Me Out Of Here !!!)...
For crying out loud. How many bands do you know that have been in the industry some 20 years on, still making records, still having a loyal fanbase, still making their mark in terms of 'critical acclaim'?
Your question is pathetic really. For one, they bloody well *are* seling records. For two, they always had the integrity (or simply decency) not to "sell their soul to the devil" where others would sell sex and show their bums to sell records. What was it again about quality and quantity?! If you want a Westlife (are they still popular) type of band to make teenagers wet themselves, then change bands. Simple as. I'd rather be into an exclusive and quality/integrity-driven band than some of the other crap around.
PS: And who cares about being cool. Were PSB ever perceived as being cool anyway?? PSB are perceived as being clever, which is much more important anyway.

I think the current show of PSB is very cool, what I heard about it. Fundamental is also very cool. The title is extremely cool. And as long a band can travel around the world and give concerts everywhere, they are hot.
The only thing they need is a better single: Integral.

Yes, New Order are perceived as cool and influential but don't confuse that with record sales. Apart from their first singles collection, Substance, they've never ever had an album stay in the UK charts for more than 19 weeks. Substance is only one of three top 3 albums. PSB have had seven of them, and six albums stayed in the charts longer than 19 weeks.
DM are regarded as far cooler (and sell more) in places like Germany than the UK.

but what is cool?
trendy, snoby, idealised?
or open, diverse, funny, poignant, lovable PSB?
i'd rather they stayed uncool

Remix Integral slightly and release it as a single. Then they would sell some more records.
