I'm not too sure you can attribute the YMIWM lyric to Neil coz the bit 'you've made such a little go a very long way' was actually written in Jonathon Kings last article in the Sun Newspaper when he was leaving as part of his opinion on the PSB. Far too many favourite quotes but not that many that I consider funny as such. JS

Back in august 1990 in swedish radio (1 month before release)
I heard a program called "Flip Flop" in swedish P3 program
and the "Jury" "flipped" this single and one of the
Jury members said "We've both given up smoking 'cause it's fatal / So whose matches are those?" it's absolutely splendid. I have to agree.

So Hard became high in swedish charts , actually number one in the "trackslistan" for 2 weeks

Actually it doesn't look quite as bad written down as it sounds on Saturday Night Forever.

I think the funniest lyric from Neil has to be from "The Sodom & Gomorrah Show' it is fresh on my mind. This is the lyric: 'I lived a quiet life, a stranger to champagne'

I found that amusing too, cause it's ironic to have Neil singing it.

Of course the funniest lyric ever is also a song title...

A great lyric but you have to include the whole slightly dodgy but also genius non-rhyming, rhyming couplet to fully appreciate it:

I'm always hoping you'll be faithful, but you're not I suppose.
We've both given up smoking, cos it's fatal, so who's matching are those.

Rhyming 'faithful' with 'fatal' Brilliant

One tat always raises a smile with me:

well it's almost heroic

See the joke to that is that you never know what the photographer saw, that i wouldn't touch with a pole, especially when it comes to Neil
