Yeah, it was a bad cover version instead of a remix.

No it's not. There were plenty of good remixes from that time. I also really like the E SMoove 7" edit of "Liberation" - the REMIX that still includes Neil's vocal.

i was really disappointed with these remixes at the time, indeed most of the mixes from Very, apart from Can you forgive her?. Granted the e-smoove 12" is a good groove, but it has nothing at all to do with the original track.

However in retropect, i've listened to it once again today after I read this, and it's not terrible I guess.

Is a good song but what has it to do with Liberation by PSB?

The 7'' mix at least had some of the vocals.
The E-Smoove 7" Edit has Neil vocals, but...

1. The verses sound quite poor.
2. In chorus, the chord change fits better with female singer in E-Smoove Mix ("Free your soul", etc...), instead Neil's voice.
3. In chorus again, the word "Liberation" is slightly out of synch with music  ...
(IMO)

So, between both mixes, I prefer, a little-little bit, the E-Smoove Mix. Only due to its last part (it's a easier chord change, but it's more interesting as a piece of music, IMO again...)

Really, I would like E-Smoove mixes had even less to do with PSB...
