My few 'meets' with them have been a few Record signings in London (although I never actually said anything). Also After the Radio 2 event this year I managed to get a quick photo taken with Neil (my bag accidentally belted his legs) and at Tower of London a few of us chased after Chris as he got into his car. While the Japanese fan talked with him I managed to get a 'forced' handshake! Ah well.......such is the life of being a fan

I wouldn't be so sure...

I'm better in avoiding Neil and Chris than in succeeding to meet them...
In 2001, I went to London with 5 friends to see Closer To Heaven. Out of these six persons, I was the only one NOT to meet either Neil or Chris.
I met Neil and Chris once, shortly, backstage after their Brussels concert, February 2000. It was nothing more than the standard meet and greet. They signed my Nightlife limited edition album. That was it, really.

My bf Michael met them after we saw them play at the Astoria in Feb 2002, he'd let a girl stand in front of him at the gig and she gave him a ticket which turned out to be for the after show party. He was takiing to Neil quite a bit and danced with Chris at the club.
I know it was one of the highlights of his life.

I met them at the Tower Records signing in London. I remember telling Neil that I had seen C2H the previous night, and he asked me "What did you think?". Chris was busy signing sleeves and could have care less. I think he asked Neil "I don't think I have a copy of this version" speaking of the song playing while they signed CDs.

I have expereinced that too in June. Chris didn´t seem that happy having to come backstage. I nearly wanted to give Chris a huge hug and went to him and said hi and shook hands with him... aahh.

He seemed like "I don´t wanna do this".

I have met both of them, too. The most exciting
'cause totally unexpected thing for me had been,
when I suddenly saw Neil waiting at a traffic light
in Berlin near the Brandenburger Tor ...
He's been alone and phoning with someone, may-
be Chris.

Am I the only one with a bad experience?
Met the duo during the NightLife US tour. Signing venue was at Tower Records @ Sunset Blvd. Waited what seemed like an hour and finally we were hustled into the store by Tower Records associates.
So two things:
1. TR associates dictated that we MUST buy the Nightlife album first before letting PSB signed. They initially frowned at me because I had other 12"s, LPs and CDs, even though I bought the NightLife (US pressed) again. A small commotion nonetheless.
2. When I finally met the duo, they were chatting with each other. I tried asking them a couple of questions and they didn't respond. They just scribbled on the items and shoved them aside. Let me try to recall, distance between them and me, hrm, about 2 feet. Am I a low talker? Nope. I used to be a drill sergeant. Then I was dragged away by one of those TR associates.
This immensely annoyed me for weeks to come and yes, I was pissed for a long while and I dumped the autographed items all together. I lost confidence when meeting idols. It's such a disappointment.
What came out good over the last couple of years was that I did meet the members of New Order up close and personal at LAX (b4 they departed for London) and at a hotel (when promoting Siren's Call). I also met Bebel Gilberto and Sarah Cracknell on two separate occasions. Both were gorgeous and talkative.
Will I want to meet the duo again? Nah. There, my spot in the queue is open.

My goodness, that was depressing to read! But you know what, record signings like that are not always the best times to meet them and talk to the artists. If you look at other people who have met them, its either been finding them in the area or at the airport or at a meet n greet. Those are the best times to catch them at their best. So don't give up on the idea of meeting them again.

Then I took his pic with him looking shy lol. And I got a lovely pic of Neil and I said 'Thankyou darling' he gave me a nice smile and said 'Your welcome' .Moments i'll remember forever.. Hope Chris reads this thread, he must remember us lol.

This scene deserved to be imagined for the sake of my shattered nerves, thank you for a nice story and good laugh!
