Hey guys

Was the merchandise the same as what has been mentioned before? Where there any keychains? Pins/Badges? Or just the t-shirts and programme??

It was the programme (CAD $30), the before mentioned T-shirts ($40) and also black "Pet Shop Boy" caps (also $40 ...which unfortunately was a bit too steep for me).

No pins or badges, the cheapest item there was the programme, which is really worth getting.

Nope, same as in Montreal... "So hard" was part of the encore though, and was performed by the backup singers and Chris (who as usual didn't sing or say anything)

Hi, new member here! My name is Aya, I'm the girl that recognised Scubaweeble from MySpace (I'd never even contacted her before, so when I told her I knew about her it was sort of surreal and hilarious), also met Rorie (though I didn't find out his name 'til afterwards) - both of them in the crowd right behind me, after the show, as we all waited at the back exit of the Hummingbird for ages and ages in the rain for Neil and Chris to come out! :)

This was my first time to meet the Boys, so I was quite stunned because I did not expect anything to happen that night. I was just tagging along because these two girls - Leah and Tara who I had just met from MySpace - said they were gonna try and meet the Boys so I should come along! And I'm so glad I did... I didn't even have anything for them to sign (all the merchandise was too expensive - I'd already spent too much money on the tickets), but one of the girls said "they can sign your tickets" so that's what I got signed. When it got to be my turn, I was insanely nervous (Neil Tennant is my biggest music hero along with Paul McCartney, besides which I still have remnants of my massive teenage crush on him), but I managed to screw up my courage and spoke to Neil, telling him that I joined Amnesty International's gay&lesbian rights group in Toronto because of the Pet Shop Boys' website (if you remember, there was a link in their News section about the two teenage boys in Iran who were executed because they were lovers - the Fundamental album was dedicated to them), I told him how deeply that had affected me, and he made a sad face and said how horrible it was. I shook hands with both of them, they smiled at me, it was like a dream! Afterwards I was kicking myself for forgetting to wish Chris a happy birthday (I think I was overly stunned from talking to Neil), but Scubaweeble said she actually gave Chris a weeble so that is cool!

As for the concert - my friend Jeremy and I were on the balcony in the centre, so the view was okay to see the show but it was too far away to make out details. So during intermission I rented a pair of binoculars for $5, and after that I could see Neil and Chris's faces up close, which was cool. It was worth it just to catch the one time Chris flashed a grin in Neil's direction, since all the rest of the time he was rather stone-faced (as usual)! The show was fantastic, even though it can't quite compare to the massive stage production that was Performance (I'll never forget that experience). Neil's voice was just as beautiful as in the studio. The dancers did a great job, and Sylvia's backing vocals were excellent.

I was a bit surprised/disappointed they didn't do 'Being boring', but oh well, they did a lot of their hits so I was happy. And yeah, like a lot of the audience, I have to admit I tend to get much more excited when they play their older songs, because they feel so nostalgic and I just like them more... I'm not too crazy about the last three albums they put out to be honest (incl. Fundamental), a very few songs I liked but the rest didn't leave much of an impression on me so I don't tend to listen to them much (sorry, I hope I don't offend anyone, this is just my personal taste so don't be cross!). My all-time favourites are still their '80s, and some of their early/mid '90s stuff.

Ooer, now I get to participate..

Hi everyone,

Alright, so I finally have an account! I really enjoyed being at the show the other night and it made me wish I was seeing more than one show this tour.

I always love seeing them live. I have uploaded a lot of my videos to youtube and you can find them here:

I will have pics posted soon!

And the "UK" guy I was with that night - that was Kayvon. :) He goes to a ton of shows and is always front row so we finally decided to exchange phone numbers. He is known by the media and by the security guys around Toronto because he is the "uberfan" and is always really excited.

Before I saw DM in Montreal this year I saw him on The Hour on CBC and was like "hey, I know him!" Then funny enough 2 days later he phoned me while I was in the hotel room preparing to see DM and asked me if I was going to be at the Toronto show. (I had forgotten that a year or so back I had given him my contact info!) So since then we've kept in touch and it was nice to learn we have so many similar interests. So in less than three months we've seen Gary Numan, DM and PSB together.

He's crazy excited all the time but he's super nice. So that's Kayvon's story!

In any case, I was so glad to run into all of you guys last night. It was fun to hang out and chat while waiting for the boys to come out. Isn't it funny that is was raining and getting cold but we didn't care?

Anyways, I'll be around more and with more pics!

Tara :)

Thanks for the video link Tara! It's bringing a smile to my face seeing the concert again. You guys snagged some great seats

Any ways, I'll post my review of the show in the other thread.

However as for articles that appeared for the Montreal/Toronto show. There's one from the Toronto Star from Tuesday, October 10th. This was just before the Toronto show. Written by Ben Rayner who also reviewed the show that Artistica linked to.

@ Spaceboy Gajo: Thanks so much for the Toronto Star link! I didn't buy Tuesday's paper, so I saved the webpage!
@Tara: thanks for the videos! Awesome!

Hi Aya. Sorry I did not introduce myself. I saw Tara with you and remember her from Montreal, and then we started chatting and realizing all these things we had in common.

Tara, I think Kayvon is a good guy, and you can't call him unenthusiastic. He must sleep for days after a show though. The amount of energy he puts out!

Welcome aboard Tara & Aya.
