I am grateful to Concerte for one thing: finally there is a version of Numb i can actually listen to without cringing! (i'm talking about neil's vocals). I don't know why i can't stand his vocals on the album version, i find it absolutely horrible, but now i can at least listen to the song.

I really love the concrete album it is a perfect compromise between a normal live album & a studio one.
But great as it is there strike me as being one glaring omission from the set list! "It couldn't happen here". Every other project PSB have undertaken is covered Liza, Dusty, Closer to heaven, Battleship etc. but not the film. Also if you read Neil & Chris's notes in the Actually Further Listening booklet it states than an arrangement was done by Angelo Badalamenti but because Stephen Hague hadn't arranged an orchestra to record it Blue Weaver did it all on a fairlight.
This would have been a perfect opportunity to here an orchesteral version of this great song so its a shame they didn't do it.

Yes, it occured to me that the non-inclusion of 'It Couldn't Happen Here' in the concert was a missed opportunity.

Concrete is awesome!
Love Left to My Own Devices, Casanova in Hell and Integral are fabulous.
The sleeve artwork really reminds me of stuff done on Warp records for Autechre (by Designers Republic) or Squarepusher. Anyone else thought that??

I can see the Autechre thing. Maybe the PSB one's a bit more... delicate, with the typesetting and stuff. But definitely. Didn't they actually do an opaque case a while ago too? I'm not sure if that was the same set of designers, though.
