I can only sadly agree with the above poster.
But at least they got some attention from Plato, a respected record shop branch (yes, even Minimal was reviewed in their weekly e-mail once).

In Australia hardly any shops stock Fundamental, and if they do you realy have to look for it. This was the case even when it was a new release. It was not displayed on the "new releases" racks at all. In Adelaide at least.
I only saw one Minimal single import, and no Numb singles at all. Thanks God for internet shopping.

Oh, and I strongly advice you NOT to ask your record shop how Fundamental sold. There's a reasonable chance that the employee doesn't even know who PSB are, nor do they have sales data at hand. You would only make a fool of yourself.
Exactly. The record shop staff aren't even allowed to reveal how many copies of something they have sold plus they have no idea of how the record has been selling in other shops and chains.

So happy to see the positivity this post has attracted in terms of Fundamental's sales. Apparently no one knows the Uk sales figures for the album, but are happy to make sarcastic comments about how apprently few it has sold.

It's difficult to be positive about a brilliant album which is not selling as many copies as it should. I put it down to the front cover. A store owner told me when Fudnamental was released that "it is undisplayable".

*LOL*, yes, since a person who co-writes this e-mail and the website, is a fellow PSB-fan and good friend of mine.
Even Plato had huge difficulties supplying Dutch fans with (imported) copies of Numb, though, despite all good efforts.

I'd be most interested in hearing if it sold more than Release, since every album released since Very has sold less than its predecessor, which would help justify the comeback. It's definitely a comeback in terms of music and sound, I'd just like to see it in terms of sales, even if it's a minimal amount more.

The front cover really suits the timbre of the music. In the epoch of the downloadable album, do covers really matter that much? I put it down to them being a pop group in their fifties/late forties.
Anyway this year's top-selling album in the UK is by Snow Patrol who are:
1 a bunch of c*nts
2 ugly
3 dull
and that hasn't stopped them.

I myself have nothing against the cover of Fundamental. It indeed suits the timbre of music contained within. However you can't do anything if stores won't display the album because the cover is unsuitable. To be honest I don't really care anymore if they sell records or not. The only negative in them not selling many records is that their future record company will not want to fork out massive amounts of cash for album recording.

A famous store in Amsterdam displayed Fundamental with four or five examples on the shelve. So that's not the point.

hope, it effects album sales....

Fundamental has been chosen as one of the albums of the year.
Amazon.com has listed Fundamental among the top 20 "Editors' Picks" of 2006. Click on the link to read the full list. "Q" magazine has also listed Fundamental as one of the albums of the year in its current issue (which is nice) and so has The Daily Telegraph. Even the NME has "Catalogue" in their books of the year list (click on the Design Observer link for a new review).

What can I say after your complaining on displaying and sales! In my country it's absolutely impossible to see posters or a huge display of new album! Yes, there was 2 copies of Fundamental on the shelves with new releases but the rest 10 copies were displaying our local rock band, quite popular by the way. I won't even talk about singles - if one day I'll see a CD single of PSB in my local store I'll think that I'm totally insane. It's sad but true. The only thing that is quite good, the official re-releasing of old PSB albums and compilations by EMI/Comp Music.
