Screaming is a B-side, I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more is a single
I Didn't Get Where I Am Today, the most potential hit song from the whole Release sessions, is a belated B-side..
etc etc
I got the point, and I´m with you with Electricity, IDGWIAT, etc...but I really ejoy to be surprised by excellent b-sides time to time...and that only can happen if there are excellent b-sides...and they remain as b-sides... ;)
If they remove all the crap from the albums and replace it with the good b-sides, then we´ll get the removed crap as b-sides...mmm...I want it like it is! :D
Anyway, everything is so subjetive...
This is not my signature.

oh please! yet another what-to-release-as-a-single thread! face it: no matter what single they release, it's never gonna be #1! can't you just appreciate a song without it being a single? can't you appreciate that the psb release excellent material as b-sides rather than just fillers?

I agree - any amount of energy spent on trying to convince the world to buy a PSB single is wasted in my opinion.
Spend the time enjoying the gift of their music and leave it at that I reckon :)

Oh man, that's definitely one of my least favourite b-sides. In fact I don't like it at all... :(

Concerning "Fugitive": Let it be! We've already got it on the Fundamentalism disc, isn't that enough? I can listen to it whenever I want. Why should all great songs be released as singles? We all know that isn't the case. That's why albums are made in the first place.

I suppose there are many people who really engoy PSB music no matter whether it is single or not. But I was always wondering if PSB are able to do another #1 hit? I think "now it almoust seems impossible".

I believe that the whole idea of "throwing away" top quality tracks on B-sides is very very good. What you achieve is a very loyal fanbase who feels like they get something very special for investing in their project. Infact, I'm quite sure that PSB wouldn't have the fanbase that they have today if it had not been for this strategy.

However, there should still be some sense involved. Back in the 80's I think they got it totally right. The B-sides were stunning, but some of them were also rather experimental. This is the right way to go about it: Show your fans a different side of your talent, but keep the material top notch. The beauty of the B-side is that it doesn't have to confirm to commercial standards.

True, there have been many B-sides over the years that could or should have been on their parent album instead of some of the album tracks, but I don't think that it's such a big issue.

Leaving Fugitive as a bonus track *is* IMO a big issue. Not only is Fugitive IMO their best song since sometime in the 80's, that's not the issue. Personal taste doesn't matter. What matters is that Fugitive is the perfect PSB single for 2006. It's a track that encapsules everything that's great about PSB. It's a track that lends from the sounds of their heyday, but still sounds completely current due to the amazing production of Richard X. Finally, about the lyrics, I don't think I can come up with one single example of a songs controversial lyrics having hurt it's chances of succes - infact I can come of with numerous examples of the opposite.

And how many songs you heard about suicide bombers though? Fugitive wont work. It wont be accepted and it will get torn to shreds. Especially here in the U.K. The BBC use to ban any song related to death for crying out load. They may have relaxed a little over the years but Fugitive will be snarled upon.

Would you accept a song about American troops going to Iraq and raping and killing innocent people? Maybe someone should release 'If i had a hammer' and have a video with Peter Sutcliffe running around the streets hitting prostitutes with a lump hammer. It doesn't matter how good a song is, people wont accept content like Fugitive.

Fundamental, is a fantastic album but the whole package has run its course anyway regarding releases.

I thought the song was about the couple of Guys who were killed due to their sexuality - hence the dedication on Fundamental.

I know the suicide bombers theme was mentioned at the time of release but I did think that had been put to bed now - if I'm wrong let me know - I'm still intrigued by the lyrics of this song.

I do agree that the song wouldn't work as a single though - far to intelligent for the charts

The In Private remix also has aeroplane noises but that isnt about suicide bombers (or the remix of what have I done to deserve this  )

I don't think that we should waste our time on such things. There's a video, called Saints Are Coming with lots of US troops, hostages and helicopters. Music exsists to revoke some emotions, interest in us and it doesn't matter weather it positive or negative.

Listening to In Private makes me want to commit suicide. Perhaps that's the connection.

Now is the time of our lives
though it won't last long
We're strong and in spite of the fight
you sing this song
It's always a new day
in Heaven
There's always a new way
to Heaven

You are my brother
I'm really gonna miss you
You are my brother
You gonna take me with you?
You are my brother
forever

Where do we stand
in this land?
We're invisible now
Clean and prepared
to be led

Indivisible
It's always forever
in Heaven
We'll all be together
in Heaven

You are my brother
I'm really gonna miss you
You are my brother
You gonna take me with you?

We'll be together
Now and forever

I know that it won't be that long
until the hour
Free and released from the world
It feels like power

You are my brother
I'm really gonna miss you
You are my brother
You gonna take me with you?
You are my brother
I'm really gonna miss you
You are my brother
You gonna take me with you?

As well as the aeroplane sounds, the lyrics intimate what it's about too.
