Without wishing to give fuel to national stereotypes, it's something I've seen quite a bit of on Internet forums with posters from India; this sort of smug condescension and pomposity in posts smattered with smilies.

I don't know if it's something I'm imagining, but Indian society does seem to be some bizarre facsimile of 1890s England with all the forced niceties that entails.
