did he??? i thought about that, too. i came to the conclusion that its cleverly mastered and maybe double tracked with studio-vocals.

i know what you mean i have no problem with it. psb live by their sound. i remember the vocal of "can you forgive her" sounds quite life but heavily mastered, maybe tuned. its ok ))

I think that too and I thought if I wrote that before, I'd get attacked
as for Montage, there really isn't a one wrong note
but that doesn't mean he can't sing at all, it's just that in the studio you can sing again if you make a mistake and that's why studio tracks sound flawless

No, I didn't just work it out now, of course I know it's the norm of shows but not for everyone, and I didn't know Neil was doing it too. If he wanted, he could sing live.
I also agree that he hasn't got great live voice. And if he wanted, he could lip-synch on concerts too but fans would be dissapointed.

maybe he more sounds than sings... i think he is a good singer with a unique but rather fragile voice. psb really know to work with it in the studio. i think they could improve it live with more digital effects. on the other hand: big tours are a real challenge for every voice.

( i believe thats why he leaves out the high "east end boys" in West End girls. but why did he sing "dreaming of the queen" an octave higher than on the album??? )

I noticed that he changed the way he sings some songs
he doesn't pull off the high ''you can fly to the end of the world but where does it get you too'' anymore and he probably couldn't sing some songs live at all (Some speculation, Nightlife, Decadence, Delusions of grandeur (high parts), Euroboy (his parts), and perhaps ''Falling'' because I think it was recorded in very high key)

probably ''One thing leads to another'' and ''Metamorphosis'' too because of the fast rapping, he recorded it in sequences and then it was joined together for the studio track, but I'm sure he could never pull it off live

i think he would change high parts if neccessary. or sing over highpitched doubletracks. have you ever tried to sing West End girls live? thats quite difficult with its nearly overlapping refrains/verses. but he manages it easily... so i am quite shure he would find a way to perform every song live. maybe not the studio-song 1:1

Yes, it's my karaoke piece and it IS difficult, especially as the backing track we have has a very slightly faster tempo - maybe just a couple of BPM, but it's enough to leave you racing to the end of the first chorus to get a breath! BTW, I can't sing for toffee, but because I know the song so well I can pull it off.

I have no issues with neil singing along with his prerecorded vocals live as he has sometimes done.

I would actually rather have him sing along with himself live rather than having female/male background singers.I dont like the sound of male and female voices mixing for some reason.I think it makes songs seem cheesy.

doesn't look like that..he even thanks the crowd afterwards...

Maybe they put the mic on after the song had ended. Or then even that one was lip-synched.

He sounded as good at Wolverhampton as he does on Cubism if you ask me - the backing singers help on many tracks remember.
