Very interesting. I haven't met them, but I believe they are (and most famous people are) what you could expect when you have "studied" them. I know people who have met their idols, and if the idea of them was positive in the first place, it also remained positive... So, I don't believe you would become emotionally attached to someone, only noticing in real life that your idol was a jerk.
Last week I briefly visited London and one of the thoughts was just how polite people were. Makes it even more funny to hear that Neil is a typical Englishman...

Chris is cool if oyu meet him where there isnt a crowd. I think he prefers havin a picture taken if its daylight as he doesnt seem to like flashes, according to Neil. Neil has always been genial. I tried to kid them on in edinburgh and Neil got me back a beauty. Much respect for that, was v funny.

Neil was nice and talkative, I sensed him getting annoyed though at all the questions, this was in 1992, I wish now I had met him when I was older,I think id have approached it differently, Chris was really cool, him and Pete went out their way to come outside at the SECC in glasgow to speak to us and sign our merchandise
how can i feel bad,
about what i never had.

my friend and i were told they were doin an interview for forth fm before the release gig. We were told theyd be there for 16.30 or something so we waited and waited and they eventually turned up at 17.15. When they arrived i asked Neil what time he called this to turn up, and that he was late, in a joking manner. I then asked for some autographs and they said jokingly, no time we're late! It was all good though when they came out and signed everything we had and posed for pics.Suburban_Boy wrote:Well you have to give us the full story now!![]()

I met Neil in a club about a year ago (Chris was there but we didn't speak). I thought Neil was extremely nice. We chatted for about fifteen minutes about pop music, clubbing, restaurants and then finally what was then the upcoming album Fundamental. At the time I was completely wrecked and it must have been obvious but Neil was really polite and kept on chatting. I concluded that he is actually a very nice chap.
My sister met both Neil and Chris at a restaurant in Soho in 2001. She is also a fan and went over to them and chatted to them both, again for about fifteen minutes, as their food was going cold. Not once did either of them complain (if it had been me I would have told her to shut up long before)! She said to me that it was Chris who was chatty and Neil was a bit quieter. However, both were very polite with her and she decided that they were two sound blokes.
I was concerned when I went over to Neil because I thought- having been a fan since about 1987- that finally meeting him would shatter my image of PSB. However, it didn't. I came away thinking that he was exactly as I imagined he would be. Intelligent, friendly and completely down to earth.

Re: What are Neil and Chris like?
Yes, I met both of them but I wouldn't call a meeting before or after a showPosh Boy wrote:I'm so curious, has anyone of you ever met Neil and/or Chris and what were they like in real life? Any tips on how to meet them?
(for autographs for instance, or maybe by accident
might be different in private ...
Nevertheless, Chris seems very shy and doesn't like to be seen without sun -
glasses (if he's seen). Neil is the spokesman, interested in fans, seems to me
he recognizes them rather often, he's smart and polite.
