'The only one' really seems to polarize doesn't it. I think it, and 'Footsteps', are some of the weakest, melody free, songs in their cannon. I've only listened to them twice I'd say

I have to say that "Happiness is an option" is a great song too.

Oh, I really like the sleeve image.

The Sound Of The Atom Splitting is their most melody-free. It's just a noise to me...

I really like The Only One, but I can't abide Footsteps. One man's meat and all that.

I tried to get into these 2 songs, but these are the 2 weakest tracks for me on the album. I just don't like them.

Know what your saying, but Footsteps is redeemed on Montage.

I love the opening song: the magic treble FYOG, CTH and I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more: fantastic.
I love all the songs of this album but not In Denial and Boy Strange. The others are very good a so much underrated album for sure.

"The Only One" summed up the end of a seven year relationship for me. :( I played it to my ex-girlfriend as we drove to see PSB in Manchester in 99, and she saw herself in the lyrics.

Closer to Heaven and For Your Own Good are awesome tracks though. I think I prefer the rawer sounding demos of them.

indeed - Footsteps and I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more are brilliant.

I don't know what you want but I can't give it any more was an amazing lead off single both visually and aurally for the masses.

Footsteps should really be the last track on the album - it closes off the whole "Nightlife project" perfectly.

Agreed that 3 of the strongest tracks weren't singles - Radiophonic, For Your Own Good and Closer To Heaven. Shame really...

All in all it still is my absolute FAVE PSB album.... 8) :P

I sometimes wonder who decides what tracks to release...for your own good would have been a top 5 hit easy...was amazing....why oh why....maybe one day we will hear why it was not released.
