Must say I've never quite seen the point of paying silly amounts of money for photographs as unique works of art myself.
If you buy a painting at least you know that it's unique but with a photograph what's stopping the photographer from printing up more copies?
Having said all that, the £100 version of Chris's picture is slightly tempting.

Nothing legally, but it would totally undermine any purported exclusivity in the new tranche of reprints of the previously published two specific images - he would destroy his own market and be discredited.greenmile wrote:...

However, clearly he has a large archive of other images from later PSB periods: indeed he might well start issuing some of these if there appeared to be a real market for limited-edition PSB photographic prints. This current Suburbia release could be a "test launch" to see what the market will bear.
So, if that happens and you start collecting then it could become an expensive hobby...

Well, it has happened: Eric Watson has issued two more prints: It's a sin and Rent sleeves. See OS. And, well, they're just as expensive as the Suburbia pics.
