More like The Resurrectionist, Integral and Fugitive.
Less like Numb and Luna Park.

Even if I meant only "Fundamental" (not "Ism") songs, as you can see, most of us regard it as hidden bonus track of the album (hidden on another CD), so...kimphilby wrote:...or Fugitive if we're allowed to include songs from Fundamentalism.
For me:
+: Minimal
-: Numb
Yes, very predictably.

Actually I have to add something: That does NOT mean I want them to turn into New Order II, and it also doesn't mean that I don't want them not to do any more ballads.

so I guess the closest to that arrangement wise would be twentieth century even though I generally dont like the tune.
"I think it’s an amazingly good album, I’ve got to be honest with you. It’s one of the albums I feel most proud of. But for people who don’t really know us, and have a sort of an idea about us, ‘Electric’ is more what the Pet Shop Boys are meant to be."

I think ILTR is the best song on Fundamental and one of their overall best tracks ever. And I know a couple of other PSB fans who agree with me. I think you should give the song a re-try. Listen to the great production, the string arrangement, the outstanding lyrics... - And what's wrong with a song sounding middle of the road? PSB mainly produce mainstream pop music and always did so. There's nothing 'cutting edge' about their records, apart from the incidental things like The Sound Of The Atom Splitting...DominoDancing wrote:More: Minimal

I have listened to it like a hundred times (simply because I've listened to Fundamental a lot). I'll admit that the lyrics are clever, but the song itself just doesn't seem that special to me. It's "nice", but that's it. It doesn't even offend me, instead it became boring after a few times. Perhaps it's the arrangement, which sounds like something I could've come up with, which just can't be a good signdVTB wrote:

I like everything on Fundy a little.
Numb-very little but it is OK.
I think fundy plus a few more uptempo tracks would be great. hell we could keep all the tracks on it as is and add two or maybe three more fast tempo songs and it would be possibly the best they have ever done.
By the way- Casanova is great!!! One the of best songs they have ever done I love it!!!!!!
