Am i right in thinking that the CD Single of Always on my mind was the best selling "CD Single" at that time ?

First of all, why is the official video so boring?
The same could be said about the Picture sleeve.
I personally like the design of an all white sleeve with small type & a small photo, but did it do justice for the song ?

Yes...
Instrumental can be found on the US 12" promo
and the Holiday mix on US 3x12" limited numbered promo holiday pack

It was on Introspective, but the single actually came out long before it. In fact, the single was included with some copies of Actually, so it's actually more of that era.

Another thing I wonder is putting the different mixes of Always on my mind on the Actually Further listening CD. Why are they there, when the song was on the Introspective album? Is it simply because of the space available on each disc? And then the most important question I have: Why isn't the single version of Always on my mind on either of the Further listening CDs?? After all, one of their most successful songs, and especially that particular version, is not included on the remastered CDs...
Of course it's on PopArt and Discography, but still. I've never understood this, as there are single versions of many other songs included on Further listenings, in case they differ from the album versions. Anyone knows??
You could find all the answers to your questions with a little, simple research. It would save time. Whether or not Always on my mind is a boring video, is a matter of opinion. You'll have to find your own answers, although I find the original video just as boring, static and doesn't go anywhere.

I'm sure I could find the answers to my questions all by myself too, but surely this forum exists for fans to discuss things? It's completely volunteer to answer my questions or participate in any discussion whatsoever. Everybody doesn't know everything, and especially I don't as I've been a fan for 5 months only. I can't have read everything yet.
There's also info with some conflict, such as whether that "Elvis video" for Always on my mind really was intended as an official video or not. Now I know it wasn't.

It doesn't really describe the musical contents of that single...
But I have the same feeling about many PSB record covers. I thought the music is boring, because the covers were so simple, often white, almost clinical. When I was younger, I was often looking at the record covers and I thought they should tell me, where did they have "the musical party going on"! Actually I got a completely wrong idea of PSB music because of their artistic cover pics! Well, watching the videos (esp. Go west) changed it all. Phew!

Most singles sleeves from the 80s were either naff or like the promo vids far too literal.
I love the detached, minimal quality of PSB sleeves, makes you think and draw your own interpretation. If its all done for you and it's all over the top representational it sort of becomes all rather tacky and simplistic.
Having said that I never really liked the artwork that The Smiths produced. Being from the North, and being exposed to 60s kitchen sink dramas and soap operas, I felt they dwelled and celebrated this heightened, stereotypical portrait of working class society rather than reflect the reality that many working class northerners yearned for escape, aspirations and glamour, and by that, not the end of the pier 'glamour'.
So even though PSB artwork could be sterile it was also fragile and beautiful.
