It's 6 years since the last album by 808 State and, apart from some remix work and the upcoming re-issues, we will hear no more from them.

There's still those great demo tracks they have for download.

I think the reaction by some has been over the top. They're really quite prolific (and diverse) compared to other acts. Over the last few years we've had PopArt, the rather good Battleship Potemkin, the excellent Fundamental coupled with the overlooked Fundamentalism, which was a nice suprise and a great bonus and some great b-sides and those two great singles from PopArt, so its all relative I suppose.

I probably won't get Disco 4 unless this Integral remix is the single greatest remix of all time, but you can't expect everything they do to appeal to you, so I'll look forward to the next thing they do.

Indeed there are and more get added occasionally.

13 years between Level 42's Forever now from 1994 (Yeah right For never now) and the 2007 album Retroglide, which has it's moments but overall it's not that good an album.

I think PSB fans get a pretty good deal considering. The Boys are no longer a new act needing to release albums every 18 months to 2 years. Every established artist waits about 3/4 years in between records. Whereas many bands do absolutely nothing in bewteen albums PSB are alwaays busy. This has been especially true ever since Nightlife. There is something almost every calendar year and some of it is really very satisfying- Battleship Potemkin springs to mind as the prime example.

However, the thought that we won't have another proper studio album for about 3 years is a depressing prospect. But PSB albums are normally worth the wait and it looks like we will probably get a ballet in between to keep us busy

I don't think Donna Summer has had a proper album out since 1991.

don't get me wrong its not like I don't appreciate PSB keeping busy. They do great at that but its relative to how much you like PSB. Like I had Fundamental memorized in 2 months and at that point I want something new to play over and over again. It just "Feels" so long.
