Chris, the other half of the Pet Shop Boys, is still in Russia handling the arrangements for the body to be flown back.
I don't understand how Chris could be still in Russia??? Who played the Zaragoza and Barcelona concerts? one of Chris' clones?
Errr - that's today's date ie. When the paper came out, not the date of the interview.
Exactly. I think, real date of conversation - 8th october...

OK, then I don't understand another thing.
The of.site wrote: "Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant are "devastated" by this tragic news".
Neil Tennant was "devastated"? I don't think so. That news hadn't interfered him to attend restaurants, to drink, to date with his "girlfriend" and to go to theatres while Chris was solving the problems in Moscow. While all petheads were grieving, Neil Tennant was enjoying his life. So now I know he is a double-faced man and a liar.

I don't think so...

And finally, I'm not surprised, when Neil says about some forums and sites "frequently rude and bitchy"...
Так что, пожалуйста, давайте не будем лишний раз подтверждать справедливость этих слов.
Excuse me for plenty of russian writing here...

Grief and shock affect people in different ways. Neil would appear to be of the "going out and carrying on as normal" variety (see also: Discoteca). No one has a right to judge. He went to see Macbeth - a tragic and sombre play - with a close friend. So what? Would it be better for him to stay at home with only a bottle of whisky and dark thoughts for company? I went out socially in the days following my mother's death. This was not callousness on my part. I knew that getting out of the house and spending time with friends would provide some brief distraction from the dreadful grief and pain I was experiencing. Everyone finds their own way of dealing with loss. You just have to do what feels right for you.

Furthermore, UK citizens require a visa to enter Russia. Neil couldn't just jump on the next plane and head to Moscow.

What a most pathetic and horrible post. Grief affects us all in different ways.

You're a sad and horrible individual.

Unlike all of you Drem was polite. He apologized, that he had started to treat me, but had warned me, that my words can wound someone's feelings. That’s all!
And all of you have no right to silence me! I express my opinion. And that is MY point of view. Yes, the facts speak for themselves. I really consider, that Tennant played a double game. It had not passed away three days, but Tennant already went to restaurants and theatres, dated with women and so on. I agree, that when you’ve got your own sorrow only, you can behave as you want. But in that particular situation you should be in sympathy with others who’s grieving. How, for example, was it for Dainton’s wife to read that Tennant still had a good time and went to restaurants? You likely don’t understand it, because many of you are still very young and do not have the similar life experience. But if I was her it would be unpleasant to me. Many petheads have refused entertaining actions as a token of mourning, but Tennant hadn’t. Well, let him go. But what for did he advertise it? Personally I do not understand it and I consider such a behaviour is wrong. You all can behave like that but I can’t. OK, that’s up to you.
Besides, if to trust of.site, the declared concert in Moscow have cancelled because of Dainton’s death. Hаh! It means it is possible for him to go to the theatre and restaurants , but to sing on the concert for Russian fans, who already are tired of waiting them, is impossible?! Double standards anyway! There are not enough fans in Russia. Pet Shop Boys are not waited in Russia, except for about 50-100 real fans in person. The PSB (with their cancellings) will end up that in general no one fan remains and the psb will not be needed to anybody there!

What kind of crap is this? Why would you say that about Neil, I concur with Dipso why would we expect Neil to just sit at home grieving! I did not know you had to see a picture or video of him crying.

I agree with you Sherry. I'm not going to stop being a fan, but if that happened, it would only be because of a few other PSB fans writing very negatively about Neil. If you make such strong negative conclusions without exactly knowing the facts (i.e. Neil and Chris might have agreed about all the arrangements mutually), I'm starting to ponder what is the definition of a "fan" really. I could not imagine saying this kind of things about my idols without being on their side, after all, and showing that.

I'm not going to argue, I'll just ignore this kind of negative posts...
