Come on James, you're going to have to try harder than that to woo us!

At least make it a sticky in the Off Topic section.
Good idea, although I have to say that the word 'sticky' just bought up other connotations in relation to a dating thread....
Hmmm, perhaps it is just the way my mind is working today!

I thought the same thing when I read that! It's not just me then who has a dirty mind!!!

Dated a few who liked my taste in music too and funnily enough, those were the most successful relationships.
Ended up marrying a guy who I got to DJ at my 21st cause his taste in music was so similar to mine. He even wandered off with a few of my records that night by mistake and I lost touch with him. One of the missing records was my 12" of Heart. I bumped into him on an online forum years later and said 'hey, you've still got that record belong to me', he wrote me a poem called 'You stole my Heart (12" by Pet Shop Boys)".

Sweet.

Better than dating someone who's already a fan, I took great pleasure and pride in turning my former BF, now friend, ON to PSB. Our relationship really started when I played him that advance snippet from Italian radio from "Radiophonic", on a beach in summer, and he later hummed amorously,
"I think I'm in love.."
My standing with him further skyrocketed when I burnt him a CD of PSB mixes and rarities; he might not have been a PSB fan but a lot of his (gay) summer housemates were, and when he played the CD on long drives back to the city, they were impressed enough to say, marry him now!
PSB fans dating each other is cool, as long as there's no violent quarrels over Disco 2. (It could happen!) Anyone turn a loved one onto PSB?

I broke up with someone cos they constantly made fun of my music tastes. Every time I tried to play her a PSB song, she was like 'what the hell is this?' Another former friend was completely into classic rock and trying to learn guitar. For him, if a sweaty guy wasn't yelling into a microphone playing a 12-string, it wasn't music. I don't have time for people with narrow minds. I don't end relationships or friendships because we have differences or they don't like PSB, it was more their lack of perspective and unwillingness to try something new and different. Saying someone who doesn't like PSB means they have deeper issues is saying a lot I know, but perhaps a bit true. For a girl into emo and hip-hop or guy into classic rock, a gay electro band they've never heard of before was too much. As for me, nothing is too much for I look for all kinds of different things to amuse myself with, and thus am attracted to similar people.

I met my ex because I had the blue discotecca fan club t-shirt on and she saw it and so we began talking and ended up together (only for a couple of years though!)
Something amazing (well for me anyway) happened in Bath last saturday when me and my French cricket team went into a bar called the boater (I think!) and bumped into a group of girls on a hen night. Anyway I ended up talking to the bride to be and explained that I too am getting married next month so she gave me a badge of a hen, only to explain that she got it at a Pet Shop Boys Concert when they played at Eden Park!
During the tour I'd been getting the piss ripped out of me because I had brought some PSB cd's to play in our tour car's and so you could imagine the reaction of the team when she mentioned the PSB! Totally random and she had no idea I was a massive fan! Very nice girl although she had never heard of this forum.
I managed to get her address because I promised to send her our cricket teams "Rugby de stade Français Paris" themed cricket calender for 2009, if you don't know what that is about then I can tell you that the Paris Rugby team basically release a very provocative calender every year to make money for charity and as we have 2 or 3 French rugby men in our side I have decided to put together one of our own! I'll post some of the pics here when it's done and you won't be disappointed!
On a side note it is funny that nearly everybody I talked to about PSB thinks that they stopped making records years ago, which is a shame really. Most of the people who I made listen to some of their recent stuff thought it was quite good compaired to some of the crap about today but they never get the chance to hear it anymore. More radio please! One of my mates even said that they thought they should try and make a comeback! I told him that they have never been gone!
Oh and it was a great tour and the rain got us a couple of draw's which was nice!!!

Yes; it does seem like everyone thinks you are terribly stuck in the past if you are a PSB fan...

Never met a guy who likes PSB, that's OK, we get to expand our music collection that way...at least they aren't critical

; or they'll get it !
