I lost respect for him years and years ago - probably about the time he started bad-mouthing his home town (Doncaster, my home town too) and publically ridiculing Doncaster Rovers football club.
I'd say the final straw was broken already, but if something else were needed then his relatively recent abuse of his position as a columnist in the Sun to encourage people to post heavy items to the freepost address of a charity (a criminal offence) was the point where I actually wanted to hit the t*sser repeatedly.

What charity was it?

Sorry for being unpopular in my opinion but I actually like JC.
At least he's straight out with his opinions and not afraid to speak his mind. There are so many PC people out there these days, I find him a refreshing break from all that.
You just have to take what he says with a hefty pinch of salt - only a complete tw*t would post something heavy to a charity because JC said so! I would hope that nobody takes him seriously! He's just a big kid who is very entertaining, even if most people wouldn't agree with his opinions. He takes the m*ck out of women all the time but I don't get offended by that, I just laugh.
Oh, and to the original poster, when I saw David Tennant on there, I was thinking Chris would be a great guest too. When JC said to him 'you got your name from Neil Tennant, didn't you?' he didn't do the obligatory condescending gay reference or point out which band Neil is in, like many presenters would .

I find JC a breath of fresh air. It's good to see someone on TV with strong opinions and expressing them, the same goes for Jeremy Paxman. I don't agree with much of what JC says but his delivery is refreshing and humorous which can't be said for 95% of presenters on TV.

I`m glad you agree with this. Jeremy Clarkson is able, I think, to make Chris be talkative and to show off his funny side.
