Do you need gravitas to play Doctor Who? It's hardly King Lear, just a silly kids show which far too many grown-ups have an interest in. I've watched two episodes, the one where Rose left and the one with the Master and they were both pants. Big build-up for 90% of the show and then a lame ending in which everything works out okay. I've seen more drama in an episode of Chucklevision.

I was a bit apprehensive when they cast David Tennant, but he proved me wrong in spades. Hope this guy will, too.
(is it me, or have all the incarnations gotten younger and younger? What will 12 and 13 be, children? :mrgreen: )

You need in a sense that The Doctor is several hundred years old so he can't behave like any angst ridden emo kid.
