Finally a world where rational people can live !!!

I'm also curious as to what point the Irish actually believe they won their country back from the British ?!?
They still haven't come to terms that the potato blight came from the US...

Oh God, look it up. I honestly don't want to rehash Irish history vis-a-vis Britain, -no one does, here. But what the hell does that question mean? Do you think discussion of the Church's abuses allows you to be so ignorant, and offensive to Irish people? We could start with 1916, or Ireland's being a member of the EU- but your question is so loaded with stupidity - "actually believe"- you boggle my mind that your question seems to posit that the Irish are deluded somehow that they've been a Republic for almost a goddamned century.

And yes, potatoes came to Europe from the "New World", along with the mysterious genetic blight that led to the Irish famine over a century later (1847). The "US" had nothing to do with this, and I'm honestly exasperated at your sheer ignorance and ditzy changing of the subject. Sorry, but your post is annoying and dumb .

I agree with Deschanel, maybe you should refer to Wikipedia if you want to know about Irish history.

The British were actually exporting food as my ancestors were dying of starvation and/or eating grass......

Are Catholic priests on mainland Europe kiddie-fiddlers as well, or is just an Irish/Scottish problem?

Not every part of Scotland is a poisonous, vacuous, hellhole of Sectarianism. Is it a problem in Ayrshire, skyhigh?

There are paedophiles in all faiths, unfortunately.

Aren't Anti Irish and Anti Catholic two sides of the same coin in Scotland?

Yes, though being more from the east of Scotland, I don't see it here. Certainly, it is a great problem in the west.

Anytime there is a voicing of opinion where I am, it is by people who were from the west originally.

I lived in Scotland for a while and thankfully, never came across any racism. I've read some absolutely charming comments by a few choice Scots about the Irish on the internet alright.

It depends on who wrote it and whether they were biased about certain parts of the history, though.
