Going to try to upgrade Vista to Windows 7 tonight

Ok, so my wife works on 3D Max and she worked on Windows XP 32 Bit on Intel Core 2 Duo, Nvidia 8800 GTS 640 Mb, 2 Gb ram. Few days ago we bought a brand mew PC: Intel i7 2,66, 6 Gb Ram (timings 7), Nvidia GTX295 1792 Mb (The latest video card) and we installed Vista x64, and 3D Max 64 bit and 32 bit and...
New PC rendered faster but it doesn't keep textures as it was on Windows XP 32 bit with weaker config.

So now we think about give up Vista 64 bit, because the only one thing is good is it sees 8 cores and works faster, but the latest video card couldn't work good on it.
So we tested the same 3D max on both computers and counted that Vista 64 bit works not godd with some programs.

Right now I install WindowsXP x64 and see what will happen.
if I could give up 3D Max I would come to Leo (Mac OS X), but there is no 3D Max to Mac. That's the problem.
Sometimes I am tired of Microsoft...

Just checked XP x64 with 3D Max 2009, it works better than Vista 100%. We downloaded very havey scene with big building with havey textures and... it works perfect... it means, something not good with Vista x64...

with XP you could record streaming audio utilizing the "what you hear" feature in the audio section....that was done away with with vista.

I'm assuming its still disabled in windows 7?

BTW, is this the actual name for this new operating system? I mean apple users get "snow leopard".
we get ...windows 7.

'Snow leopard' sounds totally ridiculous though. What does snow or leopards have to do with a computer OS?!

I work on Mac ha home also and it woks much better than nay Xp or Vista.
Also Microsoft stole a lot of things from Leopard.

I heard Windows 7 has to work better.
