I don't think so. It's more or less the general consensus that Abba got better as they went along - synth fans or not.

There earliest stuff sounds folksy and old fashioned, even Country some of it. They certainly go better and by the mid-late 70s were ahead of the game. I never think of them as synthy, just a great pop group.
