The time to compare chart positions will be the new Erasure single from the album next year. I imagine they will be releasing cd singles like they did for the singles from the last Erasure album. Or are you going to claim Christmas and Together would have been top 300 with a download only release?

As a matter of fact, comparing A Little Respect with Christmas is unfair on Christmas, as i've already explained. Christmas was £5 and was not a charity single

To be honest , i can't really be arsed with all this comparison. I brought it up because of the bizarre comparisons you and Danger Danger ranted on about. So i thought i'd put up a comparison for myself. You can dish it out but clearly cannot take it I just can't wait to see what you compare Erasure new single with. It will probably be Men and Maggots. According to Wikipedia, Storm in a Teacup / Sucker for Love, Always (2009 mix), and Phantom Bride (2009 remaster) were all released as promotional singles.

None of those got into the top one thousand:(. A pity as both Phantom Bride and Storm in a Teacup are both decent.

There is no argument that they are singles because they are on Total Pop 40. Phantom Bride would also be on it if it wasn't released 6 months later.

Phantom Bride should have been released in 1988 in all fairness. With regards to PSB whoring themselves everywhere to get Together and Ultimate to do well it goes to show that Erasure or many acts from a similar era, would struggle in this climate. I think Erasure are doing well to get to 450 with no promition. I suppose you've got to take heart in that.

I am looking forward to the next Erasure album, I just hope it's done right, doesn't feature videos recorded on the bog with poor spelling and is a well made album with a new sound and great songs. It really doesn't matter these days if it flops, what's important is that it's decent. Just wish fans wouldn't take the painful facts personally. Our bands are still making music, and it's fun debating the merits of the music.

He even agree's that the cd's are what the fan's buy of each group but strangely makes a big point out of Erasure's download/itunes chart placings while somehow forgetting PSB bomb too in that respect! How strange?

Even together sold just 5,000 cd's which is poor and will probably be about what the new Erasure single will sell.

PSB releases always struggle on downloads. I've said nothing to the contrary. Although Yes was top 5 in the album download chart and Love Etc got as high as 25. Generally though, they struggle badly. Your point here was null because no one has argued differently.

And everything you say you have repeated too! But under your own rules! And A little respect has nothing at all in relation to together. Together is a new song and was released on CD. It had lots of promo and still sold only 5,500 copies. A little Respect is a download only track of an old song with no promotion (Apart from a US TV show a few months back and even that wasn't the Erasure version lol!) and has no relation to any album or anything! Just to raise awarness for gay bullying or whatever! And it should not sell more on itunes than Together did, for the reasons Ive already stated. You know that very well but are still tring to compare the two to justify the Together chart placing! It's just ridiculous and you know it very well. But if it makes you feel better then go for it.
