Add in the fact that it's yet another remix of a 20-year-old track, and #190 doesn't seem so surprising.
Exactly, I think DM, like PSB and Erasure, have equally similar small(er) but enthusiastic fan bases and they all chart at pretty similar positions.
I also think any artist or group that have been around for 25 years plus more or less live off their back catalogue. There could well be a similar remix package from the Pet Shop Boys.

DM have a much much larger fanbase in the US than PSB or Erasure. And not only do they have a larger fanbase, but if you ask someone on the street in the 18 to 45 demographic, have you heard of Depeche Mode? You'll come up with a yes answer maybe 40 percent of the time, whereas with PSB I think you'd be lucky with 10 percent these days.
And tryin' to figure out what happened to 'Germaine Propaine'
"He couldn't have fell off that hard" Ain't no way
"What happened to the way you was rappin' when you was scandalous
That Canibus turned into a television evangelist"
Plus he raps with his regular voice [BOOSH! BOOSH!]
[BOOSH! BOOSH!] (What was that?) Pet Shop Boys
